TODA 2021: “Togetherness, Tolerance, Peaceful Coexistence, Brain Behind TODA Maiden Carnival Day” – Dr. Maikaya
The National President, Toto Development Association (TODA), Dr. Mohammed Musa Maiakaya, says the Maiden Annual Carnival Day/Award Presentation organized by the body was part of efforts to strengthen Peaceful Coexistence in the Area and the State at large.
Dr. Maikaya who stated this in his address at the event said Culture as the total way of life of people needed to be preserved for generations yet unborn.
He noted that tolerance and peaceful coexistence is also strengthened through Cultural Carnival, pointing out that the people of the Area were blessed with rich cultural heritage.
The Chiroma of Toto stressed that TODA as a body was out to promote the culture of the Area and the State at large, calling on all and sundry to do their best at contributing to the development of the society.

“The importance of culture cannot be reemphasized in our society that’s why Cultural development is one of the cardinal objectives of TODA
“Culture provides social and Economic benefit, increases tolerance among the various tribes
“Culture provides opportunity for the people to come together, it enhances the quality of life and also increases the overall well-being of both individuals and the Community as a whole
“TODA has taken the responsibility to host the first Cultural Carnival in this Area and we are not relenting efforts at promoting our cultural heritage
“This is something we feel needs to be done – reviving our cultural heritage because the society needs it now than ever” he said.
The TODA National President appreciated the State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule for according attention to the peace of the people of the Area, stressing that the Governor Sule’s leadership style was worth emulating.
Hon. Maikaya described the Governor as a man of impeccable character, urging him to sustain his developmental strides in the State.
The Former Nasarawa State Governorship aspirant charged the people not to allow their natural differences divide them, calling on them to take advantage of such differences and better the society with it.
“We maybe speaking different languages, we may have different culture, we may wear different attires but we can stay united and achieve great things together
“In our diversity, there’s strength, beauty, hope, in our diversity, we can coexist peacefully, seeking the good of others”
He said there was room for improvement in subsequent edition of the TODA Cultural Carnival and appreciated members of the Association for their contributions at making the event a success.
Alhaji Mohammed Musa Maikaya added that the recipients of TODA 2021 Award of Excellence were people that has contributed in no small measure to the Area, State and the Nation at large, development, calling on them to continue their good works.
