“My Administration Will Partner With TODA To Strengthen Peace, Promote Cultural Heritage of our people” – Toto LG Chairman
The Executive Chairman, Toto local government Council of Nasarawa State, Honorable Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas has hailed the Toto Development Association, (TODA) for its commitment to the entrenchment of peaceful coexistence by the people and residents in Toto local government area.
The Council Chairman made the commendation during the first edition of the annual Carnival day and presentation of awards to distinguished indigenes of the Local Government on Wednesday held in Toto.
He likened the efforts of the Association to that of the state Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, who has made peace the corner Stone of his administration.
The Chairman of the council who specifically appreciated
the President of TODA, His Excellency, Alhaji High Chief Muhammed Musa Maikaya, President Maikaya Development Foundation (MDF), and a former gubernatorial aspirant in the State for his generosity and leadership styles which has endeared him to the people.
Hon. Tashas noted that the area in recent times has witnessed tremendous transformation in areas of endeavor ranging from Social, political, and economic dividends as a result of relentless peaceful activities adopted by the stakeholders.
While congratulating TODA and the entire people of Toto for their unflinching support for the government to achieve sustainable peace and unity, the Council Boss, stressed the need for other areas in the state to emulate this valuable initiative by TODA aimed at encouraging togetherness.
The Chairman who was accompanied by his Deputy, Hon. Alhaji Abubakar Haruna Kwanakis expressed his administration’s readiness to not only partner with TODA but will equally host the event to strengthen the peace being enjoyed over the years.
Similarly, the council boss expressed gratitude to Almighty God, and as well as the state Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, for his support in ensuring there is peace in Nasarawa State and Toto LG.
The event features a cultural display by various ethnic groups such as Egbira, Nupe, Gade, Gbagi, Tiv, Hausa Fulani, Kanuri, and Igbo among others.
Personalities from all walks of life that attended the occasion include, HRH. Ohinoyi Ogye, Alhaji Muhammed Umar Azaki, traditional rulers, council officials, state government appointees, and delegations from neighboring states.
