A report has been on the internet by an online newspaper that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his intention to run for President in 2023 on New Year’s Day.
Speaking with our reporters in Abuja today, The senior special assistant to the Nigerian Vice President On Media & Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande has advised the public to disregard such misleading information, describing it as “fake news,” according to Laolu Akande, The Vice president has not made any political intention known at present if any it’s expected at the end of this administration, as he is currently occupied on discharging his duty diligently.
Akande said, the promulgated news that VP met with Mr. President on new year’s day is not true, “Mr. President and the VP did not meet on New Year’s Day.”
Advising that the media should stick with what he had said on the 2023 presidency. “If there is an update, I will ensure the media is made aware, please ignore the lies and many are going to still come.”
