“Professor Akinwunmi Is Imprinting Great Legacies That Will Stand The Test of Time” – NANS President
The Vice Chancellor, Federal University Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Akinwunmi has been praised for his unprecedented achievements since his assumption of Office.
The National President, National Association of Nigerian Student (NANS), Comr. Sunday Adebayo Asefon, gave the commendation while on a walking visit to the VC at the permanent site of the Institution at Felele, Lokoja – Kogi State.
Comrade Sunday Asefon noted that Professor Akinwunmi has given a facelift to the University, noting that his attention to student and staff welfare has been commendable.
The NANS President pointed out that within one year in Office of the incumbent VC, the Institution has experienced growth, while appreciating the him for his efforts at relocating the students of the Institution to the permanent site of the University.
He said feedback from the student Union of the University has been encouraging, charging the Vice Chancellor and the Management Team to sustain the developmental strides.
“You are a rare administrator with a new ideology, the blind can see the changes that has taken place at the Federal University Lokoja since you assumed Office
“Permit me to say that you are already imprinting great legacies in this Institution that will surely stand the test of time
“VC sir, by bringing the student of this prestigious University to this permanent site, you have simply exposed this Institution to the whole world because this is a strategic location that will surely attract attention of travellers
“We sincerely thank you for your support to the SUG in FUL and for according attention to the welfare of the students too
“Just one year in Office and you have achieve this much, we have no doubt that by the time you are marking two years in Office, there will be more success tales to tell” he said.
Comr. Asefon explained that the success of every administration requires the support of all, calling on the Management, staff and student of the Institution to support the VC in his plans to move the Institution to greater heights.
On his part, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Akinwunmi, appreciated the Executives of NANS for the visit, explaining that such will serve as a morale boost to his administration.
Prof. Akinwunmi said within his one year in Office, his administration has sustained a cordial relationship with the Student Union Government (SUG) in the University as they have been provided with a Vehicle to ease their movement.
He also explained that a befitting Secretariat has been handed over to the SUG to enable them carryout their Administrative functions effectively, stressing that the Institution has gotten solar powered tricycles as part of efforts to ease the movement of her students.
Professor Akinwunmi added that they will not relent efforts at ensuring the growth of the Institution an charged NANS President to use his Office to woo Well-to-do individuals across the Country to contribute to the development of Education.
The VC used the occasion to appreciate individuals that has so far partner with Institution in all ramifications, praying God to continue to help those with the interest of the growth of the University at heart.
Highlight of the visit was a tour of facilities of the Institution by the NANS President and his Executives.
