Ohi of Okene Appreciates Gov. Bello, Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Barr. Deedat, Promises To Live Up To Expectations
The Pioneer Ohi of Okene, HRH Alhaji Mamman Isa Okatahi, has appreciated Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for finding him worthy to serve the people as a first Class traditional ruler.
In an interview with Newsmen after receiving Staff-of-Office at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre Lokoja, Alhaji Mamman described Governor Bello as a man that has given traditional Institution a facelift in the State since his assumption of Office.
The Traditional Ruler pointed that the Governor‘s respect for the Traditional Institution is unprecedented, noting that the new appointment, grading and upgrading of traditional rulers in the State has further proven the Governor‘s honor for the Institution.
“I am overwhelmed, I lack words to appreciate His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State over this honor
“In the history of Kogi State, this is the first time that the traditional institution is gaining such a great recognition, His Excellency has indeed changed old narratives for the good of all and I am grateful for this rare privilege given to me to serve as the Ohi of Okene”
He appreciated the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, HRM Alhaji Ado Ibrahim (CoN) for his words of wisdom and for giving him a platform to operate.
The Ohi of Okene who is also the Oyarazi of Ebiraland, noted that Dr. Ado Ibrahim has impacted his life positively through his lifestyle and the manner at which he discharges his duties, describing him as a role model and a peace maker.
While appreciating the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barrister Salami Ozigi Deedat for his significant role, Alhaji Mamman prayed Allah to grant the Commissioner more wisdom to carryout his duties.
He described Barr. Deedat as a man of impeccable character whose services to humanity cannot be overemphasized, urging him sustain such tempo.
The Ohi of Okene, HRH Alhaji Mamman Isa Okatahi, explained that his appointment came as a surprise and appreciated Allah for finding him worthy to serve the interest of the people.
He promised to live up to expectations in the discharge of his responsibilities as binded in the constitution, stressing that his appointment was a call to service.
“This privilege is a call to service where attention to details, open mindedness, diligence, good virtues, amongst others, is required
“With the help of Allah, we will live up to expectations, we will cooperate with other traditional rulers and obey the rules and regulations guiding the Institution and the laws of the land
“We will not relent at contributing our quota to the progress of our dear State, Kogi State“
He also appreciated members of the New Direction Team, family members, friends and other well wishers for their show of love, promising not to disappoint the confidence reposed in him by the State Government and the people of the Area.
Intelligence News reports that after being presented with Staff-of-Office, the Ohi of Okene who is first to occupy the newly created stool in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State, was received amidst jubilation as the people of the Area rolled out drums, sang, danced and prayed Allah to grant him a successful reign.
