IWD 2022: “Break The Bias, There Is No Limit To What We Can Accomplish As Women” – Hon. Eunice Olukomogbon
As the World marks this year’s International Women Day, women have been charged to remain steadfast at breaking all bias that hinders from attaining certain heights.
The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Kogi State Governor on Voters Education and Registration, Mrs. Eunice Olukomogbon, gave the charge in a message to commemorate the day.
Hon. Eunice, who is the Coordinator, Kingsley Femi Fanwo Foundation – Women Wing, explained that certain things has drawn lines of limitation against women but however praises women whose doggedness has made them cross such lines, saying other women can do same.
“60% of women are experiencing bias in politics, whether deliberate or unconscious and bias makes it harder for women to get involved in politics
“Even educated women face hindrances, they encounter gender stereotypes that assign leadership to men, sexual assault, pay gaps and unpaid labour, including child care and housework, placing them at a disadvantage
“To the women who chose to be brave against all odds, to pave paths of hope for future women, to the women who chose kindness and softness in a world that feels hard, to the women who consistently choose to lift others up, I celebrate you
“I want us to know that there’s no limit to what we can accomplish as women because as women, we wear many hats – Mothers, wives, daughters, friends, business owners, home maker and so on” she said.
Hon. Eunice enjoined women to prepare their heart to face all challenges, pointing out that with focus, commitment and proper planning, they will attain all heights they dreamt of.
While congratulating them on the celebration of the Day, the Kogi State Women Leader of the Yahaya Bello Network (YBN), called on them double their efforts at raising children (male/female) that will contribute positively to the development of the society.
“Today is the International Women’s Day and it’s a reminder that you deserve to put just as much work into yourself as you do in other aspects of your life because no tank can run efficiently when it is empty

“Celebrate your womanhood by fueling your body in the right ways, acquiring knowledge, contest for positions and so on
“The best version of yourself radiates through every tasks you set out on, never forget you are worthy of finding her!
