A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (AHouseouse of representatives aspirant for Nasarawa/Toto federal constituency, Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Aibro, said his desire to contest for the house of representatives seat for the Nasarawa/Toto federal constituency in the 2023 election followed an intense pressure from stakeholders, youth and women groups of the Aibro while speaking during an exclusive interview with our correspondent in Abuja, on Saturday said though, he started the contest for the house of representatives since 2016, during the reign of the late house of representatives member for Nasarawa/Toto federal constituency, Hon Musa Baba Onwana.
He said he indicated his interim for the house of representatives seat after the demised of the Hon Musa Baba Onwana, saying after a series of consultations reviews view with the people of his constituency, saying an APC chieftain was elected to complete the remaining tenure of the late house of representatives member.
According to him, stakeholders from the Nasarawa/Toto federal constituency prevailed on him to drop his ambition til the 2019 general election, saying he has mass followership when he eventually contested the 2019 election for the house of representatives seat.
He said it was unfortunate that he could not pick the APC ticket during the contest, a situate that high he said prompted him to the pitched tent with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) where he picked the party’s ticket but later lost out to APC in 2019.
He said it was after he lost out he later rejoined the APC and worked for the victory of the incumbent governor of Nasarawa state, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, in the 2019 election Aibro, however, noted that the people of Nasarawa/Toto federal constituency discovered that the incumbent house of representatives member, Abdulmumini Mohammed Ari, could not live up to their expectations as expected, which he said prompted the stakeholders of the area mounted pressure on him to come and contest for the seat in 2023 election.
He expressed confidence that with the mass support from the people of Nasarawa/Toto federal constituency, he will emerge victorious at the election, saying youths/women empowerment, education, and good representation shall be among his top priority at the national assembly.
