The youth body under the aegis of ” Kogi Youth Alliance” is set to embark on voter education/ sensitization across the all local governments in Kogi state, the group made the decision today on Sunday 17th May at the state capital during their executive meetings with members.
According to the group, the number of voters so far is not encouraging, as the group had pledged to ensure it carries the responsibility to enlighten the people on the importance of becoming a PVC holder as it will le them to make better decisions in the forthcoming general election 2023.
The spokesperson of the Group, Ibrahim Jamiu reflects worries over the poor participation of people in the process of voters registration even at the time the Nation is experiencing worse economic woes and insecurity at the acme, stressing the necessity for all to come out en mass to take part in in the process as it is the only way to make change for a better Nigeria.
” I am worried, about why people are still complaining about the government yet they find it impossible to get involved and become a PVC holder, the only way to right the wrongs of our leaders is to stamp out ignorance and put a stop to recycling old cargoes, For how long do we keep complaining of bad leadership even when wen are not showing interest in the system? ” he said
He further said the leaders have taken advantage of the people’s ignorance about their real power because of their oblivion, advising the need to see the opportunity of using this medium to make a positive impact in the forthcoming election by helping spread the gospel and imperatives of the Permanent Voters Card.
While Reacting, Other members appreciate the decision raised for discussion and express their readiness to give it their all as the group has decided to up the present number of voters to a higher figure.
