Love towards all, forgiveness and impacting the lives of others positively have been described as part of the essence of the celebration of Easter.
The General Overseer of the Zion Hills Church of All Nations Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State, Bishop (Dr.) Kolawole Adebisi, made the assertion in an interview with a Correspondent of the Intelligence News in the Area.
Bishop Adebisi said Jesus Christ during His Earthly Ministry was committed to forgiving men of their sins, showed compassion towards them and as well, transformed their lives, stressing that such should be the watchword of today’s Christians.
The Clergyman pointed out the need for men to also learn to endure when been faced with life challenges cannot be overemphasized, saying God will always show forth in men’s affair.
“Easter celebration goes beyond just eating and drinking, it’s a period to reflect on the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead
“Easter stands for love, forgiveness and transformation; therefore, we must learn to stand for what is right at all times
“Jesus is a great transformer, He came to transform the world, mold our character and also teach us to forgive
“When men were persecuting Jesus, instead of Him to react negatively, all He said was father forgive them for they don’t know what they are doing, this is what all men should learn and imbibe on daily basis – forgiveness” he said.
Dr. Adebisi pointed out that the current situation of the Country will soon be a thing of the past, calling on Nigerians to sustain their prayers for the peace of the Country.
He called for togetherness and round table talk as tools for resolving the Country’s numerous challenges, expressing optimism that the giant in Nigeria will rise again.
“Jesus endured all pain, He was patience, God never forsook Jesus so whatever situation we find ourselves, God will show forth His might when we least expected
“Nigerians, we don’t need to carry sword against one another, we are brothers, let’s sit on a round table, discuss issues and proffer lasting solution to them instead of killing ourselves
“We are hopeful that Nigeria will work again, we will be proud again that we are Nigerians even outside the shores of Nigeria, we are called the giant of Africa; the Giant in us will rise again”
Bishop (Dr.) Kolawole Adebisi however charged Christians to also use the season to speak to others about Jesus Christ and win more souls to the Kingdom of God, adding that such brings bountiful reward to Christians.
