The Old Boys of Dekina Government Secondary School now Dekina Science Secondary School has unanimously endorsed the Presidential candidature of Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for the 2023 race.
The home based chairman of Dekina Old Boys Association (DODA), Mr. Joseph Attah and the present Principal of the School, Onalo Abimaje, made their positions known when they led other members of the Association on a solidarity visit to the State Auditor General, Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf Okala, an ‘alumnus’ of the school in his Office in Lokoja.
The Association opined that the Governor during the period of his six years in Office has demonstrated absolute capacity of providing leadership as his administration has been able to tame the wave of insecurity in the State.
They also identified the immeasurable achievements recorded in the State under the watch of the Governor to include, infrastructural development spread across the three senatorial districts which are empirical for all eyes to observe.
DOBA noted with admiration that Governor Bello’s huge financial investment in the education sector has made easier for youth to acquire knowledge and the appointments given to some of their illustrious members, including Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf as the State Auditor General, among others.

”The School also use this opportunity to request government‘s assistance in the areas of the provision of parameters fencing of the school from land grabbers and help to bring to life the broken down school bus”
Responding, Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf Okala applauded DOBA delegation for the encomiums poured on his Principal Alhaji Yahaya Bello, asserting that their endorsement is a welcome development.
Alhaji Okala who disclosed that the DOBA endorsement of the Governor will not be taken for granted, said he is not unaware of the powers of the Old Boys and Schoolmates in the angle of mobilization.
X-raying the numerous accomplishments Kogi State, expressing optimism that if Governor Bello emerges Nigeria’s President, the gigantic Ajaokuta Steel Company laying wasting would be brougt to life, existing ailing Federal road Projects cutting across the State and the exploration and exploitation of the solid mineral deposits sited in the State will be revived while Kogi citizens will occupy more strategic Federal government‘s offices.
He assured the visiting Dekina Old Boys Association of the readiness and resolve of the present administration under the watch of the results oriented and amiable leadership of Governor Bello to fence the entire school premises against land encroachment and make fund available for the repair of the school broken down bus.
