As part of efforts to inspire rural dwellers for their obedient to Allah at observing this year’s Eid El-Fitri Festival, Kogi State Auditor General, Alhaji Yakubu Okala has distributed Food items and Cash worth Millions of naira to Muslim faithful and All Progressives Congress Supporters for the Celebration.
“YY Okala” as he is popularly called, while performing the presentation of the Food Stuff at his ancestral home, Ajiolo Ajikpome in Dekina Local Government Area, said the gesture is geared towards cushioning the suffering of the people and make them to celebrate this year’s Eid-El-Fitri Festival.
He disclosed that he has never hesitated to extend succour to the people of the Area and Party faithfuls to show he is aware that they are part and parcel of the government.
“My decision to provide food items and cash to the people in our Communities, Party supporters as well as adherents of both Muslim and Christian faithfuls is to build on the efforts of his Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to minimize the suffering, poverty and hardship faced by our people” Okala said.
The Chairman of Dekina Local Council of Ulama, Sheikh Mohammed Abubakir and Alhaji Suleiman Dansoho, the Chief Imam of Abocho, expressed their gratitude to Alhaji Yakubu Okala for always standing firm in providing charity to the people especially during festive season.
The Clerics commended Governor Bello for appointing one of their illustrious son, Alhaji Okala to serve as the State Auditor General, asserting that he is a worthy son who is doing well for the people of Dekina Local Government Area.
They prayed for more of Allah’s blessings, mercies, wisdom, knowledge, sound health and renewed strength on the Governor and his aide, YY Okala, to enable them deliver the herculean task of rebuilding the State.
Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Dekina Local Government Area, Isaiak Abu, Hon. Akur Abdullahi Odu Ward 1, Abu Alaji Odu Ward 2, and Ali Ataboh APC forum chairman of the twelve wards and APC Chairman for Iyale Ward, Alhaji Shagari Ademu aka Ogiji that received the sallah package for onward delivery to party’s faithfuls, commended Okala for his kind gesture.
They described the State Auditor General as a worthy and a sincere political figure who is always there to meet the yearnings and expectations of Party’s faithfuls as well as citizens of the Area.
Our correspondent who was at the scene of the distribution of the Sallah gifts reports that Party Chairmen from Okura, Emewe, Oganeigu, Ogbabede, Egume, Ojikpadala Wards also collected the sallah package for onward distribution to their Members.
