A 2023 frontline Senate aspirant for Kogi West Senatorial District, Dr. Muyi Aino, has promised to prioritize the development of the people of the District if elected for the position.
Dr. Aino made the promise at a 2022 Media Parley for Aspirants Seeking Election to the National Assembly from Constituencies in Kogi State across Party Lines, organized by the State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Lokoja.
He said his decision to join the race was borne out of his desire towards ensuring better life for the people, stressing that the security of lives, property and progress of the people will take the centre stage of his activities if elected.
The Aspirant explained that he is out to make laws that will be of benefit to all and sundry, assuring that the basic needs of the people will also be accorded desired attention.
“I am out to serve as a voice of the people, defend the interest of the people and also make laws that will be of great benefit to the people
“We are out to provide the people with basic amenities such as health, education and as well partner with the State and Federal Government in the area of security
“It is about the development of the people, if given the opportunity, I will not disappoint the people” he said.

Dr. Muyi pointed out that he has been impacting the lives of others positively, saying he will leverage on such antecedents, calling for the support of the people to enable him achieve his laudable plans for them.
“There is little you can do as an individual, so I went into politics because there’s a lot you can do for the people when occupying a position
“I have been using opportunities given me to impact the lives of the people positively, ranging from youth empowerment, among others, if given this opportunity, I will surely live a lasting legacy”
Instead of depending solely on white collar jobs, Dr. Muyi Aino promised to empower the youths through skill acquisition, expressing optimism that such will go a long way at reducing over dependence on government.
In a Vote of Thanks, the Kogi State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Comr. Adeiza Momohjimoh, stressed the need for people of goodwill with burning desires for development and progress to venture into politics and also called on Nigerians to always be ready to perform their franchise during elections.
“If the good ones shy away from politics, the bad ones will take the centre stage
“This is why those who have good intention towards the people needs to come out and defend the interest of the masses, Nigerians on the other hand should get their PVC and do the needful in the coming elections”
Comr. Adeiza commended the Aspirant for availing himself for the Media Parley and enjoined Journalists to remain proactive in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The Kogi State NUJ Media Parley has Jerry Ocheme of the African Independent Television (AIT) as Chairman, Mike Abu, Secretary, among others.
