The Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole, has promised to lobby Federal Government’s presence to the Federal Constituency if elected.
Prince Kolawole, who is a 2023 House of Representatives Aspirant for Kabba Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, made the promise at the 2022 Media Parley for Aspirants Seeking Election to the National Assembly from Constituencies in Kogi State across Party Lines, organized by the State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Lokoja.
Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole said he is seeking to represent the people to better their lives and express confidence that he will not relent efforts at ensuring that the people of the Constituency enjoy all Federal Government‘s opportunities.
The Speaker said he has gannered a lot experience when it comes legislative business, assuring that the Constituency will experience all round development if he emerge victorious.
“I seek to represent the good people of Kabba Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency to better the lives of my people
“I will bring my wealth of experience to bear and facilitate a lot of projects to the Constituency
“As a legislature, lobbying is our business and loyalty is needed when it comes to this aspect
“With the legislative experience I have gannerred so far, if given the opportunity, I will surely lobby Federal Government‘s presence to the Federal Constituency
“Solving security issues is a collective responsibility, it’s not a one man business but I will always contribute my best to security agents at ensuring they secure the lives and property of the people”
Prince Kolawole said he will sustain and improve on his various programs to alleviate the sufferings of the people, pointing out that he will ensure good representation.
The Aspirant who explained that he ventured into politics to to enable him reach out to more people, enjoined them to sustain their support to his aspirantion.
“I have a lot of empowerment programs that I have started but only limited to Kabba Bunu but with the opportunity, I will be able to widen my coverage
“Youth, Women and Widows empowerment are some of the programs I have established and still going on in Kabba Bunu, so I intend to extend this to other parts of the Constituency if given this opportunity
“I have over one hundred staff working under me before coming into politics but today, I have over 250 staff earning their living under me
“Politics is about transforming the lives of others positively, I came into politics for the development of my people, Kogites and Nigerians in general”
He commended the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his commitment at developing the State to the envy of others, describing him as a right man to serve as Nigeria’s President come 2023.
“His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello has been doing a lot for my people
“The Kabba Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency of today has worn a new look compared to what it used to be
“In terms of health, Road construction, among other sectors, has received a boost, that is the signature of His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello”.
