The Yagba East Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has clocked one year.
Since its inauguration at the early months of 2021, the Executives of the Council have been up and doing at carrying out their responsibilities, ensuring that youth related issues are tackled squarely.
As part of activities to mark the One Year Anniversary, the Association organized a friendly football match between the NYCN Football Team and the Agbana Football Team.
The match which was played at Oluyori Muslim Comprehensive High School Isanlu, saw talented youths display their football skills on the pitch while spectators trooped out to cheer their favorite team to victory as the match ended two-nil in favor of the host, Yagba East NYCN Football Team.
To add color to the celebration, the body also carried out an environmental sanitation exercise at the monarchical abode of the Agbana of Isanlu Land, Oba Moses Babatunde Etombi.
In his Speech, the Coordinator of the Youth Council, Comr. Abdurazaq Abdulkadir, said the football match was organized to strengthen the bond of love and unity existing in the Area.
“It is a beautiful moment seeing our talented young men in both team play with love, unity, passion and awesome display of skills. No doubt, this will surely translate to real sense of oneness in diversity
“This Council has always stand in the gap to promote love and unity amongst the youths of this Local Government and we are so delighted that such has again been achieved through the various activities we mapped out to mark the celebration of the one year anniversary of this noble body in this Area
“One Year Anniversary, the journey so far has not really been easy but one is sure, once there is a will there will always be a way. This has been our driving force and we will not relent until the dreams the Council is fully achieved
“I sincerely appreciate all other Executive for their cooperation so far and I also thank everyone who have been there for us in various ways, may God almighty reward all your sacrifices towards youth development
“The Journey continues, we seek for more of your cooperation, support and commitment towards moving the Yagba East Chapter of NYCN forward, this is just the beginning, together; we shall be singing from the mountain top”
Comr. Abdulrazak who described youths as an integral part of the society said he will continue to display his leadership and developmental prowess as the Coordinator of the Council in the Area, calling on youths to always associate with the Body.
The three days program to mark the one year anniversary of the Council will also feature a Public Lecture on “Knowledge Economy and Nigeria Education System”, Special Church and Mosque prayers and 25Million Naira Fund Raising for School-Based ICT Support, Youth Centre (NYCN Secretariat, Entrepreneurship Skills and Sports Development Facilities) and Operational Vehicle.
