Dignitaries across Kogi State converged at Yagba East for the Fund Raising of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in the Area as part of activities marking the the 1 year Anniversary of the vibrant youth Body.
The #250,000,000 Fund Raising was aimed at carrying out projects including Schools-based ICT Support, Youth Centre (NYCN Secretariat, Entrepreneurship Skills and Sports Development Facilities) and Operational Vehicles.
The dignitaries who out of their tight schedules graced the event to contribute and felicitate with the leadership of the Yagba East Chapter of NYCN and commended the body for always prioritizing issues that concerns youths of the Local Government.
Present at the event were representatives of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade (PhD), Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Musa Idris, Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth and Student Affairs, Comr. Jibril Ahmad Oludare.

Others include SSA on Voters Education and Registration, Hon. Mrs Eunice Olukomogbon, Comrade Eniola Olayemi a.k.a Calculus who led the State and Zonal teams of NYCN and other lovers of GYB to the venue and donated generously for the proposed projects.
Chief Bamidele Obiniyi, Engr. Folorunsho Olayemi, Engr. David Oni, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo and others signified readiness to directly sponsor some of the projects.
A number of stakeholders and chapter Coordinators including Comrade Madami, Lokoja; Comrade Almustapha, Adavi; Comrade Oshatimehin of Yagba West were present.
The Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja, Dr. Usman Salisu Ogbo, served as the Guest Speaker on the lecture with the topic: “Knowledge Economy and Nigeria Education System” as he was represented at the event by an orator who did justice to the topic of the Public Lecture.

In a remark, the Lokoja Local Government Coordinator noted that the love and closeness he has enjoyed with Yagba East youths was a prove that things will always work better when there’s a team spirit.
The program was a huge success as it records positive response from the invited guest and student representatives who has been benefiting from the Council’s education program since the emergence of the new hands in the Council Chapter.
