Hon. Eunice Olukomogbon Visits Traditional Rulers, Kogi INEC Commissioner, Stakeholders, Emphasizes the Importance of PVC

In her quest to ensure rapid increase in the number of voters across Kogi State ahead of the forthcoming General Elections, the Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on Voters Education and Registration – Kogi West, Hon. Eunice Olukomogbon, has visited traditional rulers, Kogi INEC Commissioner and other critical stakeholders in Kogi West.

Hon. Eunice in a chat with Newsmen after the tour, said the need to increase voters strength cannot be overemphasized as it goes a long way at giving the people more voice in the political scene.

The SSA on Voters Education and Registration – Kogi West, pointed out that traditional rulers plays vital roles in the society especially at the grassroots, hence the need to liaise with them on how best to get their subjects registered ahead of the next political era in the Country.

She appreciated everyone she met with for granting her audience and described the tour as fruitful.

“I embarked on a tour to traditional rulers in Lokoja/Kogi Local Government Areas and also met with some key stakeholders from Kogi West as regards the ongoing Voters Registration exercise

“I also met with Yagba West, Yagba East, Mopamuro, Ijumu and Kogi/Koton-Karfe Assembly Members to discuss way forward and how we can increase Kogi West voters strength

The visit was necessary because I felt there’s need to increase the voting strength of Kogi West Senatorial District

The more our voting strength increases, the more we will be able to take our rightful place Politically, not just in Kogi West but will also boost the voting strength of our dear State for greater Political participation

“What is expected of the people is that they should seize this opportunity and get registered to enable them perform their franchise in the coming elections so that they can be part of the decision making especially when it comes to who represents them at the herm of affairs” Hon. Eunice Olukomogbon said.

The SSA pointed out that the refusal of the citizens to register and get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) usually results to the coming on board of incompetent leaders, calling on the people to make it a point of duty to perform their civic responsibility in the days ahead.

While pledging her continuous commitment towards propagating project GYB2PYB 2023, she enjoined Nigerians to get their PVC to enable them vote Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“You can’t refuse to be a voter and still be complaining of wrong leaders, you have to be part of the system to enable you change whatever you feel is not good enough in the system

“Register and get your Voters Card today because your Voters Card is your political voice” she concludes.

Traditional Rulers visited include; the Ohimege-Igu of Koton-Karfe, Alhaji Abdulrazak Sanni Isah-Koto and the Maigari of Lokoja, HRH, Alh. Dr. Mohammad Kabir Maikarfi (III).
