
Ahead of of 2023 general elections, politicians and their supporters have been called upon to avoid politics of bitterness and sustain societal peace.
A physically challenged Aspirant for the Kogi State House of Assembly, Ankpa I State Constituency, Aduku Emmanuel, made the call during a chat with a Correspondent of the Intelligence News in Lokoja.
Emmanuel who noted that he joined the race to bring development to the Constituency if elected for the position, pointed out that politics is not a do or die affair, calling on the people to remain peaceful in their conducts before, during and after the elections.
“Politics is not a do or die affair, my advice to all Aspirants, delegates, supporters and the entire people is that they should be peaceful and elect credible candidates that will lead the people to the promise land
“Shun violence in the coming elections because before elections we were brothers and sisters and after elections, we should remain as such” he said.
The Aspirant appreciated Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for giving the Community of Persons Living with Disability opportunity to take part in the running of the State, describing him as a man with the interest of the people at heart.
“This is the first time a physically challenged person is contesting for an elective position in Kogi State and this is only made possible through the free hand the State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello has given us
“By God’s grace, I am going to do my best for the people of my Constituency and the Community of people living with Disability
“If elected, I am going to do things that will shock the entire people of my Constituency and the Community of people living with Disability both within and outside Kogi State
“As a physically challenged person, people do think we have nothing to offer to the society, this is not true. As a physically challenged fellow, we reason beyond our disability, we think ahead and we have solution to things that are beyond human comprehension”
Aduku Emmanuel enjoined the people of Ankpa I State Constituency to sustain the existing peace in the Area, adding that he will represent the interest of the people of the Constituency.
