Delegates to the Primaries of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC have been enjoined to consider Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for the Presidential Ticket ahead of the 2023 General Elections following his administration’s giant achievements in the State.
The State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Salifu Isah Idachaba, made the call ahead of the APC Special Convention scheduled for 6th and 7th of June, 2022 in Abuja.
Hon. Idachaba said the meeting of President Muhammadu Buhari with all State Governors where the President stressed the need to pick an Aspirant that is acceptable by all also favours Governor Bello going by his courageous action during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said the Governor is accepted Nationwide going by his antecedents and commitment to the progress and growth of the ruling APC.
Hon. Idachaba said Delegates, haven been charged with the responsibility of presenting a Candidate out of many through Delegates vote or Consensus, should consider a vibrant, eloquent, pragmatic and energetic Yahaya Bello who is out to bring hope to the citizens of the Country.
He explained that Security, Unity and Prosperity (SUP) are other integral parts of the Governor’s agenda for the giant of Africa, stressing that Delegates from all corners of Nigeria should consider him for the Ticket to protect the interest of Nigerians.
“Delegates are an integral part of our electioneering process and part of their responsibility is to pick a Candidate out of the numerous Aspirants that will fly the Party’s Ticket at the main election
“The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has conducted their Primary election and Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar emerged the flag bearer of the opposition Party
“Coming to our great Party and the ruling APC, we are set for ours and we will be having various Delegates to the Primary and the Delegates vote will determine the last man standing before the General Elections
“My passionate appeal is that our Delegates should look inward, put the Country and her Citizens first, bring their scale and weigh the capacity of all Aspirants before casting their votes
“Our delegates should also back Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello as the APC flag bearer that can square up and beat the opposition candidates because of his age demography, his achievements as a two term Governor and he’s prepared to tackle insecurity and unite the Country to open a new Nigeria and implementing the PYB 16 points developmental Agenda for Nigeria and giving a voice to Africa
“While our Delegates are planning to cast their votes on the schedule day, they should also vote for their conscience and as well, bring their professionalism to bear in the discharge of their duties
“It shouldn’t be a game of the highest bidder; their votes should be about capacity and choosing someone who is out to bring development, employment and an end to all forms of insecurity in Nigeria
“His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello is a material that the Party and the citizens of Nigeria will never regret having as President because he has done in Kogi State things that seemed impossible
“Today, insecurity has become one of the major challenge bedeviling Nigeria, with Governor Yahaya Bello who has tackled insecurity issues head-on in Kogi State, it will be a work over for him because he will surely lead our gallant security operatives to the hideout of the perpetrators and ensure they are flushed out
“There are so many verifiable projects of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello in Kogi State, these include; Kogi Revenue House Lokoja, Kogi Rice Mills at Ejigba in Yagba East Local Government Area, President Mohammadu Buhari Civic Centre Lokoja, Ganaja Junction Flyover Lokoja
“Prince Abubakar Audu University Teaching Hospital Ayingba, Reconstruction and Renovation of Specialist Hospital Lokoja, Confluence University of Science & Technology Osara, Kogi State Reference Hospital Okene, Expansion/Reticulation of Okene Waterworks Project, Modern General Hospital Project in Gegu Beki amongst others too numerous to mention
“With Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello sailing Nigeria’s Ship, we will be rest assured that all abandoned and uncompleted projects, including the Ajaokuta Steel Company, will come alive again and our teeming youths will be gainfully employed” the Commissioner explained.
Speaking further, Hon. Idachaba pointed out that Governor Bello fits into the yearnings of Nigerians demand for a youthful President come 2023, saying that the Governor being a youth has as well, involved youths in running the affairs of Kogi State since his assumption of Office.
He noted that a Presidential Ticket for Governor Yahaya Bello will help secure the future of Nigerian youths, calling on the youths to stand firmly behind their own to enable them occupy various positions at the emergence of Governor Bello as the President of Nigeria.
“Nigeria is a Country that is blessed with youths across the 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory FCT Abuja, these youths occupy the highest ratio in the Country’s population and this is an advantage already
“It will be a taboo for the youths to continue to fold their hands and watch things happen just like that, they must be involved actively in order to change the current narratives of things in our Country
“We need a generational shift where the elders take the advisory seat and allow the youths to take the lead and make decisions that will be of help for both the young and the old
“This is what Governor Bello has been doing in Kogi State, involving youths in the governance of the State and the results have been super exciting as he has been able to teach them leadership responsibilities
“To our Delegates, we appeal again that you should please, cast your lots for His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, he will deliver the needed results and Nigeria will be great again” Hon. Idachaba said.
