“I am Optimistic, I will Emerge APC Consensus Candidate” – Gov. Bello

Following President Muhammadu Buhari’s charge to the All Progressives Congress APC Presidential aspirants to consult, build consensus and come up with a formidable candidate ahead of the 2023 general elections, Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has expressed optimism about becoming the ruling party’s flag bearer.

In a radio interview, Governor Bello stated that the president provided good leadership advice and that the decision is in the best interests of the Party.

The Governor from the North Central zone stated that the President and the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, have been working hard to ensure that the party selects the best candidate for the benefit of Nigerians.

“It is not about where the person comes from or his religion, but about the candidate’s competence

The anxiety building up for the presidential special convention is normal and it was seen during the party’s primaries for other offices about two weeks ago, and everything worked out fine at the end of the exercises”

Bello added that Nigerians require someone who can build on Buhari’s legacies, secure and unite Nigerians, build economic prosperity, among others.

According to him, he was able to secure Kogi State while also uniting the people, expressing optimism that “I will emerge as the APC flag bearer and will replicate my achievements at the national level”
