Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello has called on pilgrims from Kogi to the holyland to render assistant to the elderly and others in need of help during their sojourn.
Governor Bello who gave the charge when he visited them at the Hajj Camp in Abuja, enjoined them to be of good conduct and adhere strictly to Saudi Arabia laws, Hajj rules, regulations.
The Governor prayed to Allah to grant the pilgrims safe arrival to the Saudi Arabia Kingdom and enjoined them to make Kogi and Nigeria proud as they embark on the holy quest.
“Dear pilgrims from the Confluence of opportunities to the holy land of Saudi Arabia, I commend your zeal and commitment to embark on this all-important religious movement
“While on this quest, assist one another, assist the elderly, the weak and those who are not very conversant with the area
“Nigeria is a very good Country, so pray for the progress and development of Kogi State and Nigeria as a whole
“It is my fervent prayers that Almighty Allah will take you safely to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia” he said.
In keeping the tradition of his late mother alive, the Governor directed that each pilgrims be given $100 dollars.
Speaking on behalf of the Pilgrims, the Amirul Hajj for Kogi State for the 2022, HRH, Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Muhammad Anaje, appreciated Governor Bello for all his assistance to the pilgrims, assuring that the pilgrims will pray for the peace, progress and security of Kogi state and Nigeria at large.
“On behalf of the entire Pilgrims to this year 2022 Hajj to Mecca, I, the AMIR-HAJJ wish to thank His Excellency the Executive Governor of Kogi State for the conducive environment provided and the topmost arrangement put in place to make this Pilgrimage hitch-free
“May God continue to bless you and I promise that all Kogi Pilgrims will abide by all rules and regulations guiding this year’s Hajj exercise and as well, pray for the progress, peace of our dear State and Nigeria at large”
370 pilgrims from Kogi State are embarking on the holy pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
