Alhaji Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, Grand Patron of Shuaibu Abubakar Audu Foundation (SAAF), has paid homage to the Attah of Igala Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa II at his Palace in Idah Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The SAAF Grand Patron during an interaction with the Paramount ruler of Kogi East, said he was at the Attah’s Palace to congratulate him on his well-deserved coronation and to also intimate him about the projects carried out by his Foundation.
Prince Shuaibu Audu promised to continue to see to the development of the land and the State in general.
“I am here to congratulate His Royal Majesty, the Attah of Igala Kingdom over his recent coronation which I describe as a square peg in a square hole
“Secondly, I am here to also inform His Royal Majesty that the Foundation I set up some few years ago – the Shuaibu Abubakar Audu Foundation (SAAF), which focuses on three pillars – Education, Healthcare and economic Empowerment is commissioning some projects in the Eastern flank of our dear State, Kogi State
“I came with a friend of mine, a United Nations Special Envoy, Mr. Philip Bonn Africa Edward, he is here to partner with my Foundation to ensure additional funding to carryout various projects across Kogi State and also use his international connection to draw more investors to Kogi State” he said.
Speaking, the UN Special Envoy, Mr. Phillip Bonn Africa Edward, expressed happiness over the invitation of Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu to visit Nigeria, especially Kogi State.
Mr. Edward commended the Attah of Igala Kingdom for his kindness towards the people, promising to see to the progress and execution of more projects by the Shuaibu Abubakar Audu Foundation.
Responding, the Attah of Igala Kingdom, HRM Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa II, commended the Founder and Grand Patron of SAAF, Alhaji Shuaibu Abubakar Audu for his efforts at putting smiles on the faces of the people through his Foundation.
HRM Matthew Opaluwa pointed out that Education was a necessity in today’s world, stressing that bringing succor and contributing to the growth of Education was worth commendation.
He also appreciated the UN Special Envoy, Mr. Philip Bonn Africa Edward for accepting the invitation to visit Nigeria and prayed God to grant them journey mercy back to their respective destinations.
After the royal visit, the SAAF Grand Patron and his team proceeded to the Commissioning of Mashaidi Primary School project in Idah Local Government Area where his Foundation fenced, renovated and Equipped the School with chairs and tables to improve teaching and learning.
Speaking at the event, the Chiarman, Idah LGA who was represented by the Vice, appreciated Alhaji Shuaibu Abubakar Audu for the Project completed and commended him for trailing the path of his Late Father and former Governor of the State, Late Prince Abubakar Audu.
Like Oliver Twist, the Chairman enjoined the Foundation to do more for the people of Idah LGA, Kogi East and the State at large.
Similarly, the Education Secretary, Idah LGA, Hon. Omale Michael expressed joy over the efforts of SAAF at carrying out the project, stressing that the fencing of the education institution of learning has put an end to issues of land encroachment that has affected the school in the past.
Hon. Omale appreciated everyone who contributed towards ensuring the success of the Project and called on other sons and daughters of the Igala extract both at home and in the diaspora to emulate the gesture of Alhaji Shuaibu Audu and contribute to the progress of Primary Education in the Area.
While reacting to the warm reception accorded him and his entourage at the event, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu appreciated the people of the Area for their peaceful coexistence.
The Founder and Grand Patron of the Shuaibu Abubakar Audu Foundation (SAAF) pointed out that he will remain committed to making life better for the people of the State and as well, contribute his quota towards making the State an industrial hub.
The commissioning event featured presentation of Award on the SAAF Grand Patron, Poem, Military Display by Islamic Soldiers of the School, cultural display, inspection of the facility, among others.
Alhaji Shuaibu Abubakar Audu also visited a First Class Traditional Ruler, Chief Akwu Obaje who is the Ejeh of Ugwolawo and Chairman, Council of Chiefs Ofu LGA.
