The erstwhile Kogi State Commissioner for Works and Housing and Senatorial candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for Kogi Central Senatorial District, Engr. Abubakar Sadiq Ohere have done so much for the people of the state and the Kogi state government which recorded massive achievements under his watch and supervision as a Commissioner in the Ministry of work.
The quality and beauty of the completed projects under his supervision endeared him to the good people of the confluence State and become a testament of his utmost sincerity, commitment, hard work and administrative dexterity.
He has proven to be an astute administrator, an experienced engineer of no mean repute, politician with unequalled level of street credibility, highly disciplined, humble and a great leader with passion for the growth, development and progress of his immediate constituency (Kogi central).
Ebira Nation and by extension the central axis of the Confluence are not only fortunate but divinely blessed to have this great enigma who would stop at nothing to fight vehemently for any course that concerns Ebiraland and Kogi central by extension, while facilitating developmental projects with value addition to the land.
Ohere became more popular due to his people centered policies. He is such a patriotic leader in Ebiraland whose focus is always concentrated on making good use of his official privileges to better the lots of the people he was sworn to serve.
For the parliamentary assignments requires the service of an astute administrator who is well conversant with laws and governance, highly experienced political guru, committed and patriotic Nigerian like Hon. Abubakar Ohere who in his own nature, is a self starter who would not waste time to take a tutorial in the job of serving the public in the capacity of a Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Ohere will undoubtedly perform to the expectations and to the amazement of the great Ebiras, the central senatorial district of Kogi state and Nigerians. Its very obvious to every man and woman of good conscience with deep sense of reasoning that Engr. Ohere have never disappointed in every official assignment given to him since his appearance in the political firmament of Kogi state.
He has been identified as a _star boy_ and a _shinning star_ of the new direction administration led by the Kogi state government which has brought Reference Hospital, Specialist Hospital, University of Science and Technology, Teaching Hospital, Civic and Event Centre, GYB Model Secondary Schools and even the first ever Fly-Over in the State of the Confluence all through the ministry headed by Engr. Abubakar Sadiq Ohere.
This man has displayed rare candour in honesty, integrity and generosity which endeared him so much to the common people because of his people centered programmes that has continue to ring his name in every household in Kogi Central. No wonder, the people chooses to call him OHERE-ENYA which could be directly interpreted to be “The lesser of heavy loads” literary mean a helper or a man blessed with the capacity to reduce and ameliorate the many challenges of his people. This is not unconnected to his pro-people programnes and humanitarian gestures to the people at the time of their needs.
Ohere’s leadership style is exemplary which has carved him a niche as a political colossus and a totem pole for anyone to take a lesson that public office can only be made useful if the agenda is about the people and creation of continuous or long lasting impacts on the lives of the people and not the other way where self interest overrides the public clamour. It’s not by how long one holds on to power but what is done with the power. Ohere has done so much with his political office and deserves much commendations, accolades and above all, the chance to take up a higher responsibility at the National Assembly.
Ohere is full of understanding, he is tolerant and he’s a detribalized Nigerian who has never compromised the harmony and unity of the Ebira Nation. We are yet to pin point any trace of bias for clans or religions either in words or action in every of his administrative policies throughout his days as a Commissioner in the two ministries where he served. This could be observed in the grading and upgrading of traditional stools across Kogi State which no clans was excluded from the benefits especially in Kogi central where the issue of clan is much delicate and pronounced. I have not heard anyone lamenting either overly or covertly that this man has act in a manner that sparks ill will or engendered sentiments.
He relates peacefully with every clans and districts in Ebiraland and had never used his political influence to suppress any individual clans or cause disaffections among clans in Ebiraland.
Ohere has been tested and proven to be a trustworthy servant of the people. Hence, the clarion call on him to run for the Senate became imperative. This is a true call to serve the people, it’s as fitting as fixing a round peg in a round hole
