Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has been described as the most friendly Governor of Persons with disability in Nigeria.
The House of Assembly Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ankpa 1 State Constituency, Hon, Emmanuel Aduku stated this in an chat with a Correspondent of the Intelligence News in Lokoja, Kogi State Capital.
Hon. Emmanuel explained that persons living with disabilities has never had it so good in the Confluence State in terms of recognition, empowerment and employment opportunities until the coming on board of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello.
The Ankpa-born physically challenged Hon. Emmanuel who was granted an automatic ticket by the State Governor, explained that such was the first of it’s kind in the history of the State, describing the Governor as a god-saint.
Hon. Aduku Emmanuel commended the Community of Persons Living with Disabilities in the State and the Nation at large for their show of support to Governor Bello during the Presidential Primaries of the rulling APC, calling on them to sustain their support to the youngest Nigerian Governor.
“His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi is the most friendly Governor to Persons with Disabilities Nationwide
“Because of His love for People with special needs, he recently nominated me to contest for the Kogi State House of Assembly seat for Ankpa 1 State Constituency
“Also, Governor Bello gave an appointment to a Corp Member that is physically challenged, who served in the Confluence State
“I tell you, if other Governors in the thirty six States of the Federation can borrow a leaf from the leadership style of Governor Yahaya Bello, especially in the area of his cordial relationship with persons with disabilities, people in my Community (persons with special needs) will be better of
“We have been spitted at, we’ve been insulted, we’ve been relegated, some persons even felt we have nothing good to offer but Governor Yahaya Bello has changed such narratives for good
“He sees beyond the physical, he looked inward and believe in the ability inherent in us despite our physical disability, this is the kind of leader we want to be seeing across the Country” he said.
