The Ohi of Okene, HRH Alhaji Isah Mamman Okatahi, has been inducted as a Fellow, Institute of Human and Natural Resources (FHNR), a suffix he can now legally attach to his name.
HRH Alhaji Mamman (FHNR) who was inducted during the Innovative Leadership Award/Induction Lectures organized by the Institute of Human and Natural Resources, also received “Pillar of Integrity Award” from same Institution.
While conducting the Induction and Award Presentation Ceremony, the Zonal Coordinator, Institute of Human and Natural Resources, Dr. Munonye Osondu Mills, explained that the honor was in recognition of the contributions of the traditional ruler at contributing to the peace of the society.
Dr. Mills said traditional rulers play significant roles in the society as they serve as first point of contact to the people, stressing that the unique leadership qualities of the Ohi of Okene, attracted the Institution to pick him for the honor.
While enjoying HRH Alhaji Isah Mamman Okatahi (FHNR) to continue in his good works, Dr. Mills also called on members of the society to always contribute their quotas to the progress of their Community, Local Government, State and the Country at large.
Reacting to the honor done him, the Ohi of Okene, HRH Alhaji Isah Mamman Okatahi (FHNR), expressed appreciation to Allah for the enablement to be among those chosen for the Award and for granting him wisdom to lead the people.
He appreciated the Institution for finding him worthy by inducting him as Fellow, Institute of Human and Natural Resources (FHNR), promising to continue to live up to expectations in the discharge of his responsibilities.
“I feel highly elated because it is a honor that has brought joy to me
“Without human development – economically and otherwise, life will not move as expected, so I am glad that this institution has taken the responsibility of preaching the need for human capacity to be developed
“I am a lover of peace and I have been trying my best at maintaining peace and orderliness because I know that where there is no peace, underdevelopment is inevitable
“So I will sustain peace and continue to preach peace at all times so that the growth we seek can be achieved in our society” he said.
Comrade Haruun Opotu Yusuf who accompanied the traditional ruler to the ceremony while speaking about the personality of the Ohi of Okene, described him as one who has made his mark in the sands of time, stressing that his induction as Fellow, Institute of Human and Natural Resources was well deserved.
Comrade Yusuf enjoined the Ohi of Okene to continue in his good works which he said contributed to his enthronement as the Ohi of Okene and wished him well in all his endeavors.
