Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Kogi East Senatorial District, for the 2023 General Election – Hilary Edime Amodu, was born on the 23rd day of October 1973 to the family of Mr. & Mrs. Henry Hassan Amodu. Hilary hails from Idah Local Government Area of Kogi State, though born at Idi-Araba in Mushin Area of Lagos State.

He started his early primary school at St. Boniface Primary School, Idah before completing it at the prestigious Premier School Mushin in Lagos State.
By the year 1983, he got admission to Federal Government College, Ugwolawo in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State where he obtained his Senior School Certificate in 1989.
The young Hilary’s pursuit for academics continued at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, where he bagged the Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology and a Master’s Degree in Industrial Labour Sociology from Kogi State University, Anyigba.

In Hilary’s quest to carve out a niche for himself, he became a member of several professional bodies amongst which are:- Member, Certified Institute of Economics (MCIE), Member, Nigerian Institute of Cost Management (ICM), Member, Nigerian Institute of Corporate Affairs and Business Management (ICAM), Member, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Member, Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Member, Nigerian Institute of Financial Analyst of Nigeria (IFIAN).

Hilary Edime Amodu started his working career as a Statistical Clerk at Inikpi Industrial Clinics in Lagos between 1990-1991, by the year 1992 he was appointed as the Public Relation Clerk of Pharm Ventures Nig Ltd, the post he held till 1993. He was posted to Osun State for his one year National Youth Service Corp, Where he served as the Administrative Officer of Osun State Transport Corporation, Osogbo.

This star, upon his finishing his NYSC was identified by the Chairman of Fracpaul Nigeria Ltd (Marketing Consultant) who picked him up for immediate employment as an Administrative and Public Relations Officer, the same month he completed his mandatory Youth Service Corp.
His continued strive for greater height was second to none as he was among the 50 of the 8,000 applicant that qualified for the then New Nigerian Bank’s Job in the year 2000. He eventually became the Clearing Officer of the Bank, Head of Funds Transfer and the Chairman, Clearing House, Jos Branch of Central Bank of Nigeria before his exit in the year 2002.

Hilary later joined group of friends to put together a communication outfit at that young age called WJ Communications where he served as manager. His leadership style attracted several persons in various sectors of human endeavour for this rear talent, he was later offered the position of Assistant Manager at Quality Insurance Ltd, Abuja in the year 2003. By the year 2004, Hilary joined the services of Afribank Securities Ltd, where he rose to the position of Senior Investment Officer between the year 2004 to 2005.

To further show his love for the hospitality industry, young Hilary put together an event management team called Edhradu Ventures, this he did until he lured into politics in the year 2006 – 2007, where he contested for the seat of Kogi State House of Assembly to represent Idah Constituency.
By April 2007, he returned back to the bank, where he was employed by First Inland Bank Plc as Head of Abuja Retails, the position he occupied until his appointment as the Pioneer Branch Manager, First Inland Bank Plc and later Finbank Plc, Ayingba, where he influenced the employment of several Igala sons and daughters. He resigned his appointment in August 2009 to join a new group – First City Monument Bank FCMB as the Branch Manager of its Makurdi Branch, this position he held until the year 2010 when he joined WTL Properties Ltd as the Chief Operating Officer. He was Chairman, Idah Local Govt Area Council and today a member of the National Productivity Merit Award.

Hilary Edime Amodu is today the CEO, Edhradu Integrated Services Ltd, Edhradu Ventures and Who’s Who in Igalaland.
He is currently the Coordinator of Abuja Merit Award; Kogi Merit Award, Igala Merit Award and the Igala Women of Substance Merit Award. He was the National President of Rural Youth Volunteers Association; Past President, Kogi Youth Forum and Past President, Anchor Club – Abuja. He is currently the organizer of the biggest carnival in North Central Nigeria “Igala Youth Carnival”

As an Igala man head to toe, he recently composed the Nigeria National Anthem into a song in Igala language that is sang today at every Igala function.
He has several publications to his credit among which is the only authoritative biographical encyclopedia on Igala Sons and Daughters “Who’s Who in Igalaland”

Hilary also holds the chieftaincy title of the “Ejuchegahi Eje Ofu (Dogbaa).
Hilary Edime Amodu is also a recipient of several awards amongst which are the Frontiers Club Merit Award, the African Heritage Television Merit Award and Officer of the Igala Kingdom by ICDA.
He is a member of Rotary Club, enjoys travelling and football.
He is married to Priscilla Olugoma nee Idakwo and they are blessed with children.
