Executives of the Kogi State Chapter of Peter Obi National Support Group (PONSG), has been inaugurated.
They are Comr. Onoja Benjamin – State Coordinator, Thomas Simon Attah – Director Social Media and Networking, Hon. Okpanachi Ajogwu Sunday – State Chapter Treasurer, Ibrahim Hassan – Logistics and Planning, among others.
Speaking in an interview, the Kogi State Coordinator of PONSG, Comrade Onoja Benjamin, said the Group is prepared at taking the message of the Presidential flag-bearer of the Labour Party, Peter Obi to all nooks and crannies of the Confluence State.
Comr. Benjamin said the inauguration of the Executives of the Group in the State was a call to service, calling on Members to sustain their commitment towards marketing their Candidate to the public.
He pointed out that the Country is currently faced with diverse challenges, stressing that the emergence of Peter Obi as Nigeria’s next President will bring an end to insecurity, unemployment, poor road networks, bad governance among others.
“The labour of our heroes past cannot go in vain that’s why we are out to mobilize ourselves as youths to support the Presidential Candidate we are sure will bring the new Nigeria of dream to reality
“His Excellency, Peter Obi is a tested and trusted Nigerian who has made mark and left legacies than any other serving Governors
“We so much believe that with Peter Obi, Nigeria’s economy will blossom again, Nigerians will sleep with their two eyes closed again and we all will surely smile again” he said.
Comr. Onoja Benjamin charged Nigerian youths to desist from acts capable of causing rancho and acrimony before, during and after the coming elections, calling on them to work towards sustaining the relative peace in the Country.
“As we are diving into another electioneering period, let me remind our youths that election is not by fight, it is not by ballot box snatching neither is it by violence
“Stay put, go and vote for the candidate of your choice and defend your vote legally on the day of election
“Let us use dialogue to resolve whatever grievances that we have been keeping for a long time, let us work collectively in peace and harmony
“Nigerian youths are blessed with the numbers, let us use it wisely for the progress of our dear Country – Nigeria
“With Peter Obi, Nigeria will be great again!”
Comr. Benjamin promised that the Group will live up to expectations in the discharge of her duties and called for the collaboration of members of the support Group to achieve success.
Highlight of the event was the administration of oath of Office of the Executives who promised to work as a team to achieve a common goal.
The inauguration ceremony which was conducted in a peaceful atmosphere at the Rock and Garden Hotel, Opposite Confluence Beach – 2nd 200 Housing Unit Lokoja, saw members of the Group and other supporters of Labour Party in attendance.
