As Kogi State marks her thirty one years of existence, the people of the State, both at home and in the diaspora, have been called upon to contribute their quota to the development of the State.
The Provost, Kogi State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Obangede, Mrs. Hannah Oziohu Abraham, made the call in a Felicitation message made available to the Press by the Information Officer of the Institution, Binta Sadiq Oyiza.
Mrs. Hannah Oziohu explained that the course of development requires the contributions of all and sundry, describing Kogi State as a blessed State.
She said individuals can contribute to the growth of the State in the areas of Partnership with the government, scholarships, empowerment programs, creating Job opportunities for the youths, setting up private company in the State, among others.
“It gives me a great pleasure to felicitate with the good people of Kogi State on the celebration of the 31st Anniversary of the creation of our dear State, Kogi
“31 years down the lane, Still kicking, still growing and still developing. We have experienced our ups and down as a State but glory be to God, we were not swallowed by our challenges.
“I commend the government for their contributions so far towards seeing that Kogi State remain a State to be reckoned with among committee of States in the Country
“To Kogites in the diaspora, I thank God for our lives. This is just a gentle reminder to us all that “The Only State We Can Truly Call Our Own” is still our dear State, Kogi – the Confluence of opportunities
Wherever we are, whatever we do, both in Nigeria and abroad, always remember home is home
“While the State marks her 31st year anniversary, let’s look for ways of contributing our quota to her growth, the States and Countries we cherish so much can be replicated in our State when we decide to do the needful by seeing to the development of our State
“We all can’t be in government but through partnership, scholarships, empowerment programs, creating Job opportunities for the youths, setting up private companies in the State, among others, great growth will be achieved in the State” she said.
While describing Kogi as a force to be reckoned with nationwide, Mrs. Hannah Abraham appreciated the incumbent State Governor, Yahaya Bello, for his doggedness, commitment, foresight and proactive spirit towards ensuring the progress of the State since his assumption of Office.
She said the handwritings of the developmental strides of Governor Bello is boldly written for even the blind to see in various sectors, ranging from Education, Agriculture, Infrastructure, Civil Service reform, youth development, among others.
The Provost appreciated Governor Bello for his midas touch on the Kogi State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Obangede, stressing that the Governor‘s efforts has given the Institution a facelift among her counterparts.
“I specially want to commend His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State for his doggedness, commitment, foresight and proactive spirit towards ensuring the progress of the State since his assumption of Office
“Your Excellency, your handwritings are boldly written for even the blind to see in various sectors, ranging from Education, Agriculture, Infrastructure, Civil Service reform, youth development, to mention but a few
“On behalf of the management of this Institution, Kogi State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Obangede, we want to thank you for your midas touch that has not only been felt by the Institution alone but it’s environ, your are indeed a God-sent leader to change narratives. It is my prayer that God will continue to guide and lead you through the path of greatness at all times (Amen)”
While praying for more of God’s blessings over Kogi State, the Provost also enjoined the people of the State to remain united, law abiding, and continue to be their brother’s keeper.
