As the world marks the 2022 International Day for the Girl-child, the female genders have been enjoined to always appreciate the uniqueness of their sex.
The Senior Special Assistant on Women Affairs to Kogi State Governor in the Office of the First Lady, Hon. Mimi Sandra Musa, gave the advice in a telephone interview with a Correspondent of the Intelligence News in Lokoja, Kogi State Capital.
Hon. Sandra said it was not a mistake that God created them women, saying that they are born with abilities to inherent in them.
She described the female gender as Intelligent, smart, knowledgeable and extraordinary beings with rare abilities to cause positive changes, calling on them to always take advantage of their uniqueness and impact the society positively.
“At every point in time, always remember that being a Girl-child is a beautiful thing, is unique, it should be cherished and loved
“I want the Girl-child to know that her future is important and the set time to start working towards attaining the great promise is now
“No Girl-child should be limited by our unique nature, it is beautiful to be a Girl-child so we must always appreciate it” she said.
Hon. Sandra charged the female gender, especially the youth to always take right decisions that will impact their lives, stressing that the decisions taken today goes a long way at impacting their future positively or negatively.
She also called on relevant authorities to ensure that the rights of the Girl-child is protected at all times, adding that a better society can be achieved when adequate attention is given to all, neglecting none.
“Our time is now! Talking about our rights, our future. If you don’t take the right decisions now, it will affect your future negativity, the time to act right is now, don’t wait for tomorrow
“Wherever you find yourself as a Girl-child, always do the right thing because it accounts for your future
“My charge to the government and the security agents is that they should please help enforce those laws that are already in place which protects the Girl-child from being abused and molested
“Our traditional rulers, parents, NGOs and other critical stakeholders also have vital roles to play at ensuring that girl child enjoys all her rights and benefits in a given society
“Let all hands be deck, women are blessed with potentials to change narratives for good, don’t underestimate the power of a woman
“Women are breed of people that should be given much attention because over half of the population of the world are women” Hon. Sandra added.
