Kogi as Oil Producing State: Hon. Idachaba Hails Governor Bello’s Doggedness, Congratulate Kogites

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello has been commended for his doggedness at ensuring the State is enlisted as one of the oil producing States and first in Northern Nigeria.

 

The State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Salifu Isah Idachaba, gave the commendation while reacting to the payment of 13% Derivative fund received by the State from the Federal Government.

Hon. Idachaba noted that the feat achieved was another testament of Governor Bello’s commitment towards ensuring all round transformation of the State economy.

He explained that the purpose driven and visionary Governor Bello has been ensuring that the State get all that is accrued to the State from the National, describing him as a rare leader whose heart is set on all round development.

“My Boss, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State has been focused on bringing initiatives that will stand the test of time

“Generations to come will again benefit from this milestone achievement and the State in general will witness more development because the 13% derivative fund will be properly channeled for the good of all” he said.

Hon. Idachaba congratulated the people of Kogi State on the new development, describing it as a blessing.

The Culture and Tourism Commissioner called on them to sustain their support for the present administration, stressing that more dividends of democracy will be enjoyed at all levels in the State in view of the Governor‘s commitment towards ensuring the State gain more recognition at all quarters.

On Thursday, 20th October 2022, Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, during a Meeting of the State Executive Council, announced that the State has received her first payment of 13% Derivative fund from the Federal Government, stressing that with such, the State has officially been named as one of the oil producing States in Nigeria.

Kogi State is the first State in Northern Nigeria to be recognized as an oil Producing State.

With the recognition, the age – long oil disputes between the two border communities of Kogi and Anambra States has come to an end.
