The Chairman, Kogi State Mineral Resources Development Agency (KGMRDA), Hajiya Hassiat Suleiman Ozavize, has called for more synergy among stakeholders in the Mining sector for better and robust output.
Hajiya Hassiat made the call at a Synergy RoundTable Workshop for Active Stakeholders in the Mineral Resources Sector at the Glass House, Government House, Lokoja.
She said Kogi State is blessed with several Mineral Resources that will be of great benefit to Kogi State, Nigeria, Africa and the globe when properly harnessed, stressing that proper collaboration will go a long way at ensuring such is achieved.

The KGMRDA Boss stressed that Kogi State remain a hub of Mineral Resources in Nigeria, calling for more commitment from the Stakeholders towards harnessing them for the benefit of all.
“The need for stakeholders in the Mining Sector to synergize cannot be overemphasized. From the smallest head-pan lifters at the mining pit to the CEO of a Mining Company to the Community where these Treasures resides, and the public Policy formulators are all equal stakeholders in this sector and we must always collaborate fully while carrying out our various activities
“We can no longer afford to be a dependent State, we are too blessed resources-wise so the Agency in tandem with the Ministry, is constantly strategizing to make the full use of our mineral endowment for a sustainable growth and development of Kogi State
“If these resources are left in idle state, they will remain like that for eternity making zero revenue for us and not add value to the local community where it is housed” she explained.
Hajiya Hassiat Suleiman Ozavize, who doubles as the Chairman, Mineral Resources and Environmental Management Committee (MIREMCO), Kogi State Chapter, stated that the Confluence State is open for business, calling on existing and potential investors to discuss business with the State.
She pointed out that the State Government under the leadership of the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello has created enabling environment, especially in terms of security, saying that such is a plus to the State.
In view of the security architecture already in place, Hajiya Hassiat encouraged Investors to invest in the State, stressing that their security is assured under the watch of Governor Yahaya Bello.
“Kogi State is open for business, we are open for all investors, we are willing to discuss businesses with you all so, if you have your funds and need mining site, start talking to us
“If you have sites and you are looking for investors, talk to us, if you have both the site and fund but need partnership with the Government or private sectors, we are here for you
“If you are interested in mining in whatever category, we are here for you, bring your business” she said.
The program with the theme: “Resourcefulness, Innovation, Compliance, Security Consciousness and Corporate Responsibility” had in attendance, government functionaries, Stakeholders in the Mining Sector, Investors, Representatives of Mining Companies, among others.
A panel discussion and paper Presentations were part of activities that took place at the event.
