Celebrity International College Donates Relief Materials to Kogi Flood Victims

The Celebrity International School Montessori, Science and Technology, has donated relief materials to flood victims in Kogi State.

 

The materials include tubers of yam, wrappers and cartons of noodles with the aim of alleviating the sufferings of the victims.

 

The Management of the School handed over the relief materials to representatives of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) for onward distribution to the affected people.

Aside the normal academic activities, the Celebrity International School Montessori, Science and Technology, Phase II, Lokoja, Kogi State, which was established on 18th September 2017 had since been empowering the children who passes through the four walls of the school to learn trades such as Metal, Wood, Electrical-Electronic, Computer Programming and Home Making.

Following the havoc wrecked on some citizens of Kogi State by the 2022 Flood, the school management engaged in the act of rendering helping hands to the victims as part of her cooperate social responsibility to the immediate Community.

The School Principal, Onyeka Prince Onyeka, noted that the 2022 flood, though natural, has rendered many homeless and also put a stop to people’s means of livelihood in the State.

Onyeka pointed out that the relief materials donated to the State through SEMA, was part of the school’s cooperate social responsibility to help alleviate the sufferings of flood victims.

“We tagged this relief materials as Cooperate Social Responsibility, this school is located in this environment which is Kogi State, so we are simply out to share in pain of flood victims

“This gesture is aimed at alleviating the sufferings of those affected by the 2022 flood in the Confluence State” he said.

The Principal commended the Teachers, Students, pupils and their parents for their cooperation so far, promising that the school will continue to do her best at impacting the society positively by breeding intellectually and morally sound students.

While receiving the items, the Director, Relief Department of the Kogi State Emergency Management Agency, (SEMA), Ajibade Abimbola, commended the School for extending hands of fellowship to flood victims in the State.

Abimbola who assured that they will distribute the materials to the affected victims, called on other well-to-do individuals, Organizations and politicians to also come to the aid of those affected by flood in the State.

The Administrator of the School, Amaechi Chichetaram, said the school decided to help in ameliorating the sufferings of flood victims in view of the challenges they pass through, stressing that they needed help now than ever.

Chichetaram called on other Nigerians to contribute their quota to assist those whose property and means of livelihood have been destroyed as a result of the flood.

On their part, the school Head Girl, Jimoh-Fancy Inioluwa and OMEIZA JEDIDIAH, the School HEAD BOY, both commended tbe Management for not only teaching them theories but practicalizing what they teach.

They promised to be good Ambassadors of the school and serve as agents of positive change in Society in view of the morals they are learning from the school.

250 tubers of yam, 20 wrappers and 5 cartons of noodles, were the materials handed over to SEMA by the school for onward distribution to flood victims.
