FARMER’S DAY 2022: “Agriculture, Surest Way to Ensuring Food Sufficiency in the Nation” – Dr. Mary Alile

Sister-to-Sister Empowerment Worldwide Partners With AFAN

Nigerians have been called upon to engage in agriculture to ensure food sufficiency in the Country.

The President and Founder of Sister-to-Sister Empowerment Worldwide, Dr. Mary Alile, made the call during the 2022 Farmers Day Celebration held in Abuja.


Mrs. Alile, who was represented by the National Co-ordinator of the NGO and Vice President, Edo State branch of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Pst. Mrs. Mabel Obetoh, explained that the International Non-Governmental Organisation also partnered with AFAN with the aim of encouraging women to venture into Agriculture towards ensuring food gets to the doorsteps of the populace.

“Sister-to-Sister Empowerment Worldwide is partnering with AFAN in order to bring food to the doorsteps of the people by encouraging Women, especially those in Edo State to venture into Agriculture

“Agriculture creates room for one to be self-reliance, women can also build a stable home through the income earned from Agriculture thereby promoting and endearing peace in the larger society

“Let’s make our land bountiful by planting a crop because agriculture is the surest way to ensuring food sufficiency in our Nation – Nigeria” Dr. Mary said.

She congratulated the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina (OON) on his recent National Award of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) conferred on him by the President.

Mrs. Alile commended Mr. Femi Adesina for his services to the Nation and looked forward to welcoming him into the big umbrella of AFAN.

The team was led by the Aguma Benin Bassa, HRH, Alhaji Bako Dogwo (JP), the President of AFAN – Edo State branch, Pst. (Mrs). Mabel Obetoh, and accompanied by Aisha Ugbaja, Sunny Otuokpaikhian, Alhaji Tijani Abubakar, among others.
