The National President of Standup for Women Society (SWS), Barrister Deborah Ijadele-Adetona has commended Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu for assenting to the law for the right of “THE FEMALE PERSONS RIGHT OF INHERITANCE OF PROPERTY LAW, 2022”
The National President, through the Association’s National Public Relations Officer, Liberator Billie Nwogu, explained that Governor Ikpeazu has demonstrated that females are not different from males when it comes to who inherit family property.
Barr. Ijadele-Adetona noted that new law is in consonance with her association’s belief to support women to get justice, help to understand and to know their rights as well as advocate for women participation in politics for a better society.

She appealed to the Governor to put machinery in place to implement the law and to sanction violators in the nearest future.
She called on traditional leaders to support the Governor to realize the purpose for which the law is meant for.
The law is to provide for the Right of a Female Person to Inherit and Own Property and for other Matters Connected Therewith.
