The Federal University Lokoja Postgraduate School and the Institute of Governance and Development Studies, PhD Course 1 Class has called for the immediate reconstruction of the burnt Kogi State House of Assembly Gallery gutted by fire at the wee hours of 22 October 2022.
The FULokoja PhD Course 1 Class made the call in a Communique issued at end of their Academic Guided Tour At Lokoja, Kogi State.
The Group, during her Tour to the State House of Assembly, expressed concern over the unfortunate incident, calling for the reconstruction to enable the Assembly Members carry out their functions effectively.
“As part of the core component of the field trip, the PhD Course 1 Class visited both the burnt complex of the Kogi State House of Assembly and the temporary House of Assembly building
“The Group expressed deep concern over the unfortunate fire incident that gutted the Kogi State House of Assembly Complex
“As a very important arm in democratic governance, the FULokoja PhD Course 1 Class strongly solicit the immediate reconstruction of the burnt building to enable the Assembly Members and staff to continue to deliver their constitutional mandate of lawmaking, oversight and representation”
The Group showered encomium on the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi for the rapid development witnessed in the Institution.
They also appreciated him and the management team for according them a warm reception, promising to partner with the Institution in the days ahead.
“As part of the requirement for the FULokoja Postgraduate School and the Institute of Governance and Development Studies, the FULokoja PhD Course 1 Class undertook a comprehensive tour of the FULokoja Permanent and Temporary sites from Thursday, December 1st to Saturday, December 3rd, at Lokoja, Kogi State
