Kogi Permanent Secretary Receives MERIT AWARD

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hajia Habibat Onumoko has received a Merit Award in recognition of her commitments and drive for excellence.

 

Presenting the Award to the Permanent Secretary, the President of Etohueyi Women Association, Mrs. Halimat Sadiq, said the award was in recognition of Hajia Habibat Onumoko’s outstanding performance in the civil service and her efforts at adding value to the lives of the people, especially the women and the girl child through her various initiatives.

 

Mrs. Halimat Sadiq also explained that the Awardee’s overall contributions to the development of Women through her skills acquisition, empowerment programs and scholarships granted to orphans and the vulnerable in the society, also played critical roles in finding her worthy for the honor.

On her part, the Permanent Secretary, represented by the Okene Legislative Council Leader who doubles as the President of FairWin Women Advancement Association (FAWWASS), Hajia Bilikisu Onumoko, said the ‘Merit Award’ would serve as a continuous reminder to the recipient to always work hard for more rewards.

She dedicated the Award to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, describing the Governor as an iconic political pathfinder and a respectable voice in Nigeria’s polity.

She extolled Governor Bello for his resourcefulness and contributions to the growth of Kogi state and Nigeria at large.

 

While assuring the group that she will treasure the confidence reposed in her, she charged women to be supportive to their husbands and give proper training to their children as the future of Nigeria lies in their hands.
