The Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Nasarawa State Chapter, in collaboration with the Miyeti Allah Vigilantes, has rescued over 30 kidnapped victims in the Area.
The Chairman of Toto Local Government Council, Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Yahaya Idris, commended the combined security team for their efforts at setting the victims free.
The statement explained that the rescue Group rescued 30 the persons from the Kidnappers den located at a forest close to Koton-karfe, in Kogi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
“We are happy over the rescue operation carried out by the combined efforts of the Miyeti Allah Vigilante Group Nasarawa State Chapter and the Local Vigilantes from Toto Local Government Council of Nasarawa State
“We also appreciate the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, for his sagacious commitment to the security of lives and property of the citizens of the State” he said.
He commended the Vigilantes over the successes recorded so far in the fight against kidnapping and banditry, calling on residents to be vigilant and report suspicious persons and their movements to the nearest security agencies or their Traditional Rulers.

The Council Chairman, Tashas, commended the efforts of the Police and other security agencies operating in Toto Local Government Area, urging them to exert more force on the criminals.
Hon. Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas restated the commitment of the State and Local government‘s efforts in the ongoing fight against kidnappers and banditry in the State.
The Chairman who also addressed the rescued victims, reunite them with their family members at the Toto Local Government Council Secretariat in the presence of Stakeholders, religious leaders and Security Chiefs.
The statement explained that after the hoodlums were cleared from the forests by the Military and Police over a year ago, they suddenly resurged with terrific terrorism, leading to deaths of some victims, extortion and collection of ransome from the families of victims.
It added that the Rescue Operation is still ongoing towards ensuring adequate security of lives and property of the people of the Area.
