It was jubilation galore at the Event Hall of the Hilltop Hotel Okene, as Senior Secondary School Three (SSS3) Students from Kogi Central gathered in their numbers to receive their West African Examination Council (WAEC) Fee provided for them by Engineer Abubakar Sadiq Ohere, the 2023 Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Kogi Central Senatorial District.

The Intelligence News gathered that the humanitarian gesture tagged: “Ohere WAEC Scholarship”, was facilitated by the Ebira Youth Congress (EYC) as the beneficiaries smiled home with their WAEC Fee while their parents and other well wishers, poured encomiums on Engr. Ohere for the support.
Secretary to Kogi State Government, Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade, in her remarks, described Engr. Ohere as a man of impeccable character whose dedication to service is second to none.
She pointed out that with Ohere serving as the Senator representing Kogi Central, he will move motions that will make life better for the people, calling on them to cast their votes in favour of all APC Candidates in the coming Elections.

Dr. Folashade enjoined the beneficiaries to remain dedicated to their studies and come out in flying colours, stressing that such will serve as a THANK YOU from them to their sponsor – Engr. Ohere.

The Managing Director, Kogi Enterprise Development Agency (KEDA), Hajiya Rekiya Onaivo Sanni, pointed out that the importance of educating the girl-child cannot be overemphasized and enjoined the beneficiaries not to allow the gesture to go in vain.
Hajiya Rekiyat who went memory lane to recount her meeting with Engr. Ohere, explained that he has been impacting the lives of others from the onset, praying Allah to grant him success in his Political quest.

She described Engr. Ohere as a man who cares about the wellbeing of others and called on parents at the event to cast their votes in favour of Engr. Ohere and all APC Candidates.
Also Speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Bello on Legislative Matters, Hon. Abdulhameed Okene, explained that the scheme has been in existence for the past seven years, pointing out that Education remain the best legacy hence the need to invest in it.
Hon. Okene described Engr. Ohere as one who is committed to seeing the young ones succeed in their chosen career, calling on the beneficiaries to make the best of the opportunity.

Similarly, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Yahaya Bello on Grassroots Mobilization, Hon. Bilkis Inya Oyiza Ozi-Okuku, said the victory of Engr. Ohere will usher in ease and quality representation of the people of Kogi Central Senatorial District in the next political dispensation.
Hon. Bilkis pointed out that ensuring the progress of the younger ones by paying their WAEC Fee will serve as a great relieve to the parents of the students especially in the face of the current unstable economy.

She assured that Engr. Ohere will emerge victorious in the coming polls and silence other Senatorial Candidates of other Parties from the Area with wide margin.
Earlier in his address, the President General of Ebira Youth Congress (EYC), Comr. Ateiza Aliu Obiyo, appreciated Engr. Abubakar Ohere for his philanthropic gesture towards the people by responding to the Association’s requests at all times.
He said the government cannot do everything for the people hence the need for individuals to come to the aid of the people to ensure a better future for the young ones.
He Prayed God to continue to bless Engr. Ohere and his family at all times, describing him as a problem solver.
Comr. Obiyo noted that though EYC remain an apolitical Group but has the freedom to appreciate those who are impacting the society positively, stressing that the WAEC Scholarship will serve as succour to the beneficiaries.

He said the handwritings of Ohere are boldly written on the walls for all to read, praying Allah to help him succeed in all his endeavours.
Others in their remarks, encouraged the beneficiaries to use the funds for the purpose intended and prayed God to help Engr. Ohere succeed in his quest of representing the people of Kogi Central at the Senate in Abuja.
The Director General, Kogi State Pension Commission – Hajiya Mariam Ozioma Abedo, Mallam Ibrahim Otaru Ohere, among others, were present at the event.
