The Ohi of Okene, His Royal Highness (HRH), Alhaji Isah Mamman Okatahi, has clocked One Year on the Throne.
Following the creation of the Stool of Ohi of Okene, Alhaji Mamman was presented with the Staff of Office as the Pioneer of the Stool by the State Governor, Yahaya Adoza Bello on the 5th of March, 2022 at the President Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre in Lokoja along with other traditional rulers.
The One Year Anniversary which was marked on a low key as it collided with political season, saw the people of Okene and beyond, troop to the Palace of the revered Traditional Ruler in Jubilation as they congratulated him and also offered prayers to Allah to strengthen him for the Journey ahead.
“All I have to say is Alhamdullilah! Allah has been my protector and my strength, my wisdom and my everything. Everything we have been able to do within the time in review, it’s been by the mercies of Allah, all praises be unto Him alone
HRH Alhaji Isah Mamman appreciated the State Governor, Yahaya Bello for ensuring the creation of the Stool of the Ohi of Okene, describing him as a man that has accorded rare attention to the Traditional Institution.
The Traditional Ruler pointed out that Governor Bello has brought numerous development to the State hince his assumption of Office, calling on the people to sustain their support to the Governor Bello APC led administration in the Confluence State.
HRH Alhaji Isah Mamman Okatahi also commended the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Ozigi Deedat, Hon. Usman Ododo and other lieutenants of the Governor that contributed their quota to the creation of the Stool of Ohi of Okene, praying Allah to continue to be with them at all times.
Going forward, the Ohi of Okene noted that he’s committed to ensuring that another Burial Ground is created in the Area as the existing one is occupied, saying that such development requires urgent attention to enable the people get a place to bury the dead.
He also hinted that plans are on to renovate an old Stadium in Okene that was vandalized long ago, to enable youths who are skilled in various sports, harness their potentials and get them engaged in profitable ventures to disabuse their minds from social vices.
HRH Alhaji Isah Mamman Okatahi added that plans are also on to create Market at two strategic locations for the Hausa/Fulanis in the Area to carryout their businesses and ease the stress they currently face, explaining that such will also boost the socio-economic life of the people.
