It is no longer news that Alhaji Y.Y Okala, the immediate past Auditor General of Kogi State has indicated his interest going by popular calls to contest the Kogi Governorship seat in the 2023 Gubernatorial contest.
It is also a known fact that the man who will occupy the Lugard House in 2023 must be a man of many credentials who knows the nitty gritty of governance. Alhaji Y.Y Okala aptly fits into this description of that man considering his pedigrees and antecedents over the years as the Auditor General of Kogi State.
He had within the period under review demonstrated his capacity to rule the State if given the opportunity by the good people of Kogi State. Alhaji Y. Y Okala’s commitment and dexterity speaks volumes.
As Auditor General of Kogi State, Y.Y Okala worked tirelessly inline with the new direction government of Governor Yahaya Bello to bring about a Civil Service reform that will ensure Optimal performance of Civil Servants in Kogi State. It is on record that most of the assignments given to him by the Governor were carried out to the later, demonstrating genuine commitment, focus, discipline and loyalty to achieve desired results.
As a man who has distinguished himself in his chosen field, Y.Y Okala can be described as a Philanthropist who has touched lives in many ways. He can be likened to someone imbued with the milk of human kindness.
Judging from the array of his accomplishments in life, it is believed that if given the opportunity, he will use his years of experience to effect and build on the successes of his Mentor and Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello who has recorded monumental feats unprecedented within the last seven years.
Alhaji Y.Y Okala has no doubt created a nitch for himself within the period of his service as Auditor General of kogi state. He has demonstrated uncommon commitment to the service of the State and it is believed that if given a shot as Governor, he will give greater commitment to the service of the people of Kogi State.
As the APC Governorship primary election draws closer, one thing that the delegate must realize is that they must chose a Governorship Candidate who has the pedigree and requisite experience to deliver on his mandate to the people and that man is without any iota of doubt Alhaji Y.Y Okala who has demonstrated his capacity to deliver the gains of democracy to the good people of Kogi State if given the mandate.
Alhaji YY. Okala who is from Kogi East has shown that leadership, loyalty and good followership are possible prerequisite for good governance. He has as a mater of fact shown loyalty and commitment to the goals and ideals of the GYB new direction government and I believe that it is time to be rewarded for loyalty.
