The Federal Polytechnic Idah (FPI) in the Eastern Part of Kogi State, has Matriculated 3155 Students for the 2022/2023 Academic Session with a charge to acquire technological skills for global relevance.

Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Yahaya Baba-Usman, who gave the charge at the thirty-sixth Matriculation ceremony of the Institution in Idah, noted that such technological skills will enable them contribute to the development of the Country.
Dr. Baba-Usman explained that the matriculation is a programme to formally admit new students into the institution, stressing that the Polytechnic has courses to acquaint students with the right knowledge, attitude and skills.
While urging the students to shun social vices to enable them achieve their academic goals, the Rector noted that the Institution will not tolerate acts, capable of jeopardizing the peaceful co-existence of all members of the Polytechnic Community.

He advised them to get the comprehensive students’ handbook to get acquainted with the rules and regulations of the school.
Dr. Baba-Usman assured members and staff of the Institution of his commitment to their welfare, saying the management will create a conducive environment for teaching and learning.
He called on all stakeholders to join hands with the management to build a Polytechnic that is second to none in fulfilling the dreams of the founding fathers, and as well, meet the growing technogical needs of the Nation.
The Provost, College of Health, Sciences and Technology, Idah, Dr. Solomon Anyegwu, advised the new students to take their studies serious to actualize their dreams.
The Chairman of Idah Local Government Area, Alhaji Abuh Odoma, represented by the Vice Chairperson, Zuwierat Idowu, called on the matriculants to abide strictly by the rules and regulations of the Polytechnic to enable them achieve their academic goals.
Highlight of the ceremony was the administering of oath of allegiance on the new students as thousand, one hundred and fifty-five students were matriculated into National and Higher National Diploma programmes of the Institution.
