Two Groups, Ogoni Youth Assembly Abuja and the Niger/Delta Commonwealth Global Watch-Dog, has given the Management Board Members of the Niger Delta Development Commission – NDDC, Five (5) working days ultimatum to vacate Office.

The warning was issued in a statement after the Groups’ Crucial meeting held in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
The Chairman, Ogoni Youth Assembly Abuja who doubles as the Convener, Niger/Delta Commonwealth Global Watch-Dog, Ambassador Piegbe Emmanuel Uebari, explained that the refusal of the NDDC Board to hand-over and vacate Office after a Presidential Directive from the Grand Commander-in-chief of the Federal Republic (GCFR), His Excellency President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, after dissolving all federal government Boards, is illegal and flagrant disrespect to Presidential Orders.

The Ogoni-Land born Niger/Delta Youth Leader, Seasoned Accountant and Ex-Banker, stressed that said if they refuse to vacate Office within the Group’s stipulated period, they will mobilize youths to fill the NDDC Headquarters in Port Harcourt and the Federal Ministry of Niger/Delta Affairs Abuja.
The Statement read:
“Arising from a late night crucial Niger/Delta Region Stakeholders meeting, held in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja Nigeria; the CHAIRMAN, Ogoni Youth Assembly Abuja and also the CONVENER, Niger/Delta Commonwealth Global Watch-Dog, Ambassador Piegbe Emmanuel Uebari has issued a five (5) working days warning ultimatum to the illegal NDDC Management Board to hand-over and vacate office immediately.
“The illegal NDDC Management Board failure to hand-over and vacate office immediately, in the next five (5) working days, we shall mobilize Niger/Delta Youth from the Nine Niger/Delta States of Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross-Rivers, Delta, Edo, Abia, Ondo, Imo and Rivers State, to occupy the Niger/Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Headquarters, in Port Harcourt – Rivers State and the Federal Ministry of Niger/Delta Affairs Abuja, concurrently.
“The Niger/Delta Development Struggles and labours of our Heroes past must not be in vain, which was led by DR. KEN-SARO WIWA & OGONI 9, THAT WAS HANGED TO DEATH IN 1995 which eventually gave Global recognition to the Niger/Delta struggle and also gave birth to the Niger/Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in 2001, by an Act of the National Assembly
“The Niger/Delta Youth will not allow any illegal NDDC Management Board to continue in Office after a valid Presidential Directive have been issued, dissolved all Federal Government Boards, by His Excellency, President Ahmed Bola Tinubu“.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in June, approved the immediate dissolution of the Governing Boards of all Federal Government Parastatals, Agencies, Institutions, and Government-Owned Companies in the exercise of its Constitutional Powers and in the Public interest.
