“Tender Your Resignation Letter to President Tinubu in the Next Seven Working Days” – Groups Warn NNPC Boss – Mele Kyari

The Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd, Mele Kolo Kyari, has been given a-Seven Working Days Ultimatum to tender his Resignation Letter and vacate Office.

The warning was issued in a statement by the Convener, Niger/Delta Commonwealth Global Oil & Gas Watch-Dog and Chairman, Ogoni Youth Assembly Abuja (OYAA), Ambassador Piegbe Emmanuel Uebari.

After a crucial meeting of the Group in Abuja, the Ogoni-born Youth Leader noted that since the inception of the NNPC, Mele Kyari’s display of incompetency is second to none as NNPC GCEO.

He cited incessant Crude Oil theft, weaker Internal Control System in NNPC Ltd., lack of checks and balances, aiding Crude Oil Theft, diversion of Petroleum Products and arbitrary hike of Fuel Pump Price as reasons for calling for the resignation of the NNPC Boss.

“Since 1957, over sixty (60) years ago, when Oil & Gas was discovered in commercial quantities especially in OGONI-LAND by Shell Petroleum Development Company Ltd. (SPDC) and subsequently in the entire NIGER/DELTA REGION, no doubt; the indigenes have suffered untold hardship as a result of Environmental Degradation, Carbon Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, Water Pollutions, Oil Spillage on farm lands and the recent Black Soots ravaging the entire Niger/Delta Region. This is as a result of incessant destruction of Stolen Crude Oil in the Niger/Delta and Gas flaring

“Over Sixty (60) Years now, the Niger/Delta Region have been the BURDEN-BEARERS of Oil & Gas Exploration and Production by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd. in Nigeria. It is disheartening to note that, under the watch of the NNPC Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) Mele Kolo Kyari, we have recorded unbelievable, unbearable and incessant Crude Oil Theft in the Niger/Delta Region

“Still under the watch of the NNPC GCEO, Mele Kyari, we have observed weaker Internal Control Systems and lack of checks and balances in NNPC Ltd, leading to Crude Oil Theft in the Niger/Delta Region and aiding Diversion of Petroleum Products imported into Nigeria to other Neighboring Countries

“NNPC LTD GCEO Mele Kolo Kyari, still under your watch, you broke Guinness Book of records for highest Arbitrary Hike in Fuel Pump Prices in the New Millennium, causing untold hardship to the ordinary Nigerian mass on the Streets

“Due to high cost of transportation, Nigerians are now subjected to trek a thousand miles in a day like Camels just to get to work or to their respective business location to find their daily bread

“Mr. Mele Kolo Kyari, you have not shown capacity and capabilities in the discharge of your duty as the NNPC GCEO. Your incompetency is second to none since the inception of NNPC

“Arising from a late night appraisal meeting on the Stewardship of the NNPC GCEO, Mele Kolo Kyari, over the Years now, the Convener, Niger/Delta Commonwealth Global Oil & Gas Watch-Dog and Chairman, Ogoni Youth Assembly Abuja, Ambassador Piegbe Emmanuel Uebari, hereby issue a seven (7) working days ultimatum to the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Mele Kolo Kyari, to immediately tender your resignation letter to Mr. President and vacate Office

“Take note that failure to RESIGN at the Expiration of the Seven Working Days ultimatum, we shall mobilize the Niger/Delta Youths from the Nine (9) Niger/Delta States of Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross-Rivers, Delta, Edo, Abia, Imo, Ondo and Rivers to “OPERATION PEACEFULLY OCCUPY NNPC TOWERS ABUJA, TILL MELE KOLO KYARI TENDER HIS RESIGNATION LETTER”

“We must speak louder and amplify our voices for the sake of the Niger/Delta Region and all voiceless Nigerians who are suffering untold hardship” the statement read.
