Chief Billy Osawaru Accepts Grand Patron Position of Sister-To-Sister, Partners With the NGO

The Member representing Orhionmwon and Uhunmwonde Federal Constituency of Edo State at the National Assembly, Hon. Billy Osawaru, has partnered with Sister-To-Sister Empowerment Worldwide in her quest of alleviating the sufferings of the people, especially women and children at the grassroots.

Dr. Billy made the pronouncement of the partnership when he received the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Sister-To-Sister Worldwide, Dr. Mrs. Mary Alile (CAPACITY), and Sister-To-Sister (Empowering Women Across The World), Nigeria Chapter, on a Courtesy visit to him in Abuja.

Chief Dr. Osawaru who expressed delight over the visit of the International Non-Governmental Organization to his Office, commended the works done so far by the Sister-To-Sister.

He thanked the Group for their immense support during his campaign, explaining that he knows the worth of women in the society hence his move for a Bill for “35% formation for women” in a meeting at the House.

The House of Representatives Member who gladly accepted the request to be the Grand Patron of the NGO, promised that that he will not only support the Group but also share their ideas with his Colleagues for possible partnership and support.

He intimately identifies with Iguevbiobo Community that the NGO said needed urgent help and pledged to support the movement to the community with five (5) bags of rice.

The House of Representatives Member also spoke of an initiative called “Interest-Free-Loan” meant to help women start and grow their businesses, explaining that since Sister-To-Sister are running with same vision of “Zero-Interest-Loan”, he will partner with the NGO on such front and the “Back-To-School” Project of the Sister-To-Sister.

An elated Dr. Mrs. Mary Alile, the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of the NGO, in her Speech, appreciated Hon. Osawaru for recognising the worth of women in the society and congratulated him on his election victory into Office and wished him well in his tenure.

Dr. Mary, who is fondly called CAPACITY, said the people of Orhionmwon and Uhunmwonde are privileged to have Chief Osawaru as their House of Representatives Member, expressing optimism that he will bring his wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of his Legislative duties that will catapult the Constituency to greater heights.

The CEO highlighted some Projects of the Sister-To-Sister to include; Back-To-School for the children and The-Girl-Child, saying that the Partnership with Hon. Osawaru will help Sister-To-Sister to expand her coast to touching more lives in no distant time.

The versatile and result oriented Founder of the NGO said Sister-To-Sister will always be on ground for the course of the House of Representatives Member and will play her role at delivering his agenda to the people in the interior villages of Orhionmwon and Uhunmwonde LGAs.

Speaking earlier, the National Coordinator of Sister-To-Sister – Nigeria, Pst. Mrs. Mabel Obetoh, noted that the body noticed the stake of poverty in Iguevbiobo Community, Uhunwonde LGA in their last visit and intended to return there to share food items to support the less-privileged.

Pst. Mabel appreciated Dr. Osawaru for his declaration to assist Sister-To-Sister carryout the urgent task and prayed to God to see him through in his endeavours.

In company of the CEO and Founder of the NGO, Dr. Mrs. Mary Alile, were the Executive Members of the Sister-To-Sister whose happiness knows no bound over the partnership with the House of Representatives Member.
