In a build up to the 2023 Governorship Election in Kogi State, the First Lady of the State, Mrs. Rashida Bello, has inaugurated the Ododo/Oyibo 2023 Steering Committee for Women and Youth Mobilization Campaign Team.
Addressing the mammoth crowd at the Glass House, Government House Lokoja during the Inauguration Ceremony, the Governor’s wife congratulated Kogi women and youth for sustaining the tempo of engaging in mobilization, robust conversation and voting to ensure the success of Ahmed Usman Ododo as the Party’s Governorship Candidate.
She said the need to inaugurate the Steering Committee cannot be overemphasized, stressing that there was need to sustain the great legacies of her husband, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello CON.
“Weldone to you all for making our Party, APC in Kogi State stand tall among other States in the Country
“We are inaugurating this Committee in direct recognition of the critical roles that women and youth will play in mobilizing Kogites for this all important project for the growth and development of our dear State come November 2023
“The Continuity of GYB’s agenda and legacies can only be consolidated by massively voting Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo as the successor of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello
“I therefore urge us all not to be tired but work collectively from polling Units to Ward level and to the Local Government levels as victory is around the corner
“I also want to use this medium to charge our women to work collectively and in sincerity with Hajiya Sefiya Ododo, the wife of our flag bearer, accept her as a mother like you did to me because Hajiya Sefiya is meek, accessible, kind and loving” she stressed.
Mrs. Rashida Bello officially introduced Hajiya Sefiya Ododo and Mrs. Margaret Ele Oyibo, to the women, youth and everyone present at the event, calling on them to support them to enable them succeed in the next Administration.
In a remark, the wife of the the APC Governorship Candidate, Hajiya Sefiya Ododo, appreciated the incumbent Governor‘s Wife, Rasheedat Bello for her efforts at keeping the women of Kogi together, describing her as a mother indeed.
Hajiya Sefiya commended the women and the citizens of the State for voting for her husband overwhelmingly in the Primary Election that made him emerge as the Party’s Candidate, promising that he will live up to expectations in the discharge of his duties when elected Governor, come November 11th 2023.
She promised women in the State that they will be carried along in the scheme of things when they are elected into power, calling on them to stay united, engage in profitable ventures and as well, remain good ambassadors in the society.
Present at the Inauguration Ceremony include Wife of the Deputy Governor – Mrs. Ejura Onoja, Secretary to the State Government – Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade, State Head of Service – Mrs. Hannah Odiyo, other appointees, Market Women, Stalwarts and supporters of APC, well wishers, among others.
The State cultural troupe graced the event with their acting and dancing skills as Comedians also steered the atmosphere with their talents.
