The entire Tiv Community residing in Kogi Local Government Area of the State have acknowledged the leadership of the Governor Yahaya Bello led administration in State for securing lives and properties of it’s citizens for over years.

This, the Tiv people said the inclusive leadership of the APC prompted their movement in horde from other opposition to the biggest political party in Africa and as to be part of ongoing transformation agenda Christine by the New Direction CEO, GYB and urged other people to join them in winning the November 11 election.

The Tiv community single out Hon Engr. Muhammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu, the State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources for their special chieftaincy which was described as not only well deserved accolade but first of its kind.

The Commissioner was on Sunday conferred with the chieftaincy tittle of Zege Mule U Tiv translated into English Language as (the Big Shed) of MDZOUGH of Tiv community in Kogi LG.

Bashir Gegu who was celebrated amidst thousands of invited guests from all walks of life pouring encomium on the grassroots political juggernaut.

The Chairman Kogi LG Tiv Traditional Council, Tyoor William Fiin Saawuan explained that the title was in recognition of Alhaji Yahaya Bello’s selfless leadership prowess that has added value not only to the indigenes but also extended to the who came from various states to settle in Kogi.

The Tiv monarch added that such benevolence of the governor should be appreciated greatly in order to to gain more.

Accordingly, the present Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Hon Engineer Muhammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu is a good representative of the Governor and had represented the governor well in his capacity and as member of the state executive council hence to crown him with their special chieftaincy tittle.

The present government has made it easy for us to go to our farms without any hitches, the security architecture is working fine, we shall reciprocate this historic gesture by voting the APC governorship candidate Ododo Ahmed Usman to emerged victorious.”

The solid Minerals Commissioner, at the ceremony which was well attended by dignitaries within and outside the state congratulated him on his brand new honoured with a tittle “Zege Mule U Tiv.”

While the political leader of Kogi LG was being celebrated by the Tiv community of Kogi LG, a chieftains of the party, Hon Saidu Akawu Salihu, Barr Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku, lawmaker representing Kogi/Koton-karfe, Hon Idrees Maikudi, SA’s, SSA’s, LG Chairman, deputy Chairman and host of supporters joined Engr. Bashir Gegu in appreciating God for the new elevation bestowed on him by Tiv people.

Bashir Gegu, an accomplished administrator, one time house of representatives candidate due for Lokoja/Kogi federal constituency and governorship aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, is said to have contributed immensely to the development of his host LG and beyond.

The Commissioner, who was excited with the honour, thanked Tiv community who deemed him fit for the chieftaincy tittle. He pledged to continue to work round the clock in giving his people a voice.

He said the honour showed that the people of Kogi LG appreciated all the Governor Yahaya Bello has been doing for them.

Gegu, who assured his constituents that he would not relent in his efforts to do more, assured them that the honours bestowed on him by the Tiv traditional ruler would be a wake-up call for him to do more for his people for the rest of his life.

Global Times Nigeria report that Ahoko community in Zone C area of Kogi local government was agog with thousands of people who came to be part of this memorable occasion as organised by the Tiv people, who also denounced their former political parties, PDP, SDP to formally joined the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, as to be part of good governance being provided by the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

Mr. Agyoh David, Secretary General of the Mdzough U Tiv said the Tiv extraction have decided to move en-mass to the mainstream political party (APC,) which he said brought redemption upon Kogi State and Nigeria irrespective of religion and tribal consideration.

Mr. David maintained that the Tiv people residing in Kogi State particularly Kogi LG are predominantly farmers and had enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere as provided by purposeful leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello.

The Tiv scribe spoke during the decamping and award of chieftaincy tittle ceremony, assuring APC leaders that they will mobilise their members across 21 LGAs to vote for APC.

Speaking earlier, one time House of assembly member and former commissioner in the state, Chief Saidu Salihu Akawu commended the Tiv community for aligning with the APC, he said they won’t have anything to regrets as the fold is too big to accommodate everyone.

“Bashir Gegu deserves all accolades and encomium he is getting everywhere now. he worked for it.

Akawu, a former federal board Chairman said the Tiv people have made wise decision and next phase should be on how they will mobilise thousands of their members to support APC, a task he said will earned them more reward after the election.

Also Speaking, Barr. Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku, the Executive Chairman Kogi State Civil Service Commission, felicitated with Engineer Bashir Gegu on his new chieftaincy title, saying he has break the record of leadership in the area.

Barr. Tanko, who is a former chief administrator of Kogi LG noted with gratitude to God that the new development excite him, he said it was not because his brother was involved but the Tiv people coming together aid APC victory is highly commendable.

He urged massive mobilization of prospective electorates to be able to get the required vote in Kogi LG.

Tanko who was accompanied by his supporters across Kogi LG, described Bashir Gegu as a reliable man who deserved the honour.

“He has a proven track record, and the people can attest to this fact. I am proud of him, and wish him goodness in all his endeavours. He is a good leader, as evidenced in today’s outing, and we can only pray for him to go higher and higher,” he said.

Our correspondent report that over 500 Tiv people who left their former parties to join APC converged at Amoko, precisely inside the former party chairman’s residence, venue of the decamping ceremony.
