Nasarawa Lawmaker, Solomon Akwashiki empowers constituents, sponsors free computer training for 150 youths
….Executes life-touching projects worth N18m in the last 4 months.
Hon Solomon Akwashiki is the member representing Lafia Central constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly and had sponsored free computer training programme for N150 youths of his constituency.

The lawmaker said the aim was to enable them acquire computer skills and knowledge.
Akwashiki was elected under podium of the Social Democratic Part, (SDP), Chairman, House Committee on Public Account and Minority Whip of the house.
He made the disclosure while flagging off the three months free computer training programme for the youths of the constituency in Tudun Kwandara in Lafia Local Government Area on Tuesday .
He said that he decided to sponsor the training due to the numerous benefits of computer knowledge in the society.
The lawmaker told the people of the Constituency that the computer training was part of activities marking his 100 days in office.
According to him, I have decided to sponsor this training to enable our youths to acquire computer knowledge.consodering the importance of ICT to human and societal development.
“If you will recalled some months back we are here to seek for your votes, mandate and support and you have given us the mandate

” Today I am here to flag off three months free computer training as today globally without having computer knowledge, you are noting these days
” So I urge the beneficiaries to be punctual as after the training I will register you in JAMB and when you passed the JAMB, I will look for admission for you in tertiary institutions” he said.
Hon Akwashiki disclosed that he has drilled 14 boreholes across his constituency in the last four months in office.
” I have also spent over N5million to purchased armoured cables due to vandalization of electrical armoured cables in my constituency.
” Presently I am grading 7km road from Lafia to Akassa village to give the community access road among other projects.
” I want to call on the participants, youths and other Nigerians to embrace computer skills
The lawmaker assured of quality and sound representation at the state legislature.
” I want to use this medium to assure you of my readiness to represent you well and to continue to empower you and others to be self reliant,” he said
The Minority Whip urged the beneficiaries to be punctual and good ambassador of the programme.
Hon Akwashiki also urged the youths and other people of his constituency to continue to engage in meaningful venture for the overall development of the constituency.
Besides, he called on the people of the constituency and state at large to support Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi and Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed.
” Our amiable Speaker, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi is doing well, let’s pray and support him to succeed,” he said
In their separate remarks, Mr Abdullahi Ahmadu, the District Head of Tudun Gwandara, Mallam Musa Angba, Hon Solomon Akwashiki DG, Alhaji Mohammed Tanko, Director of Finance, Lafia LGA, Mr Abubakar Hassan Abdullahi, SDP Chairman Lafia LGA among others appreciated Hon Akwashiki for the gesture and prayed God to bless him abundantly.
They also commended the lawmaker for his laudable projects just within four months in the cconstiuency.
Responding, Mr Solomon Yakubu Enjola and Hauwa Mohammed Idris, who spokes on behalf of the beneficiaries appreciated Hon Akwashiki for organizing the training.
They promised to pray and support the lawmaker at all times.
Earlier, The Executive Director, SoftWorld Computer Institute, Alhaji Isa Mohammed Agabija, has urged the beneficiaries to take the training serious in their interest and for the overall development of the constituency.
” I want to urge the beneficiaries to take the training serious as truancy and absenteeism will not be tolerated, ” he said
The executive director commended the sponsor of the programme, Hon Akwashiki for initiating the programme and prayed God to bless him.

In a related Development and during the programme, Tudun Gwandara Unity and Progressive Forum has presented an award of excellence to Hon Akwashiki for his good representation in the last four months in office.
Mr Daniel Adigizi Joshua said that Akwashiki is making them proud at the state legislature, hence the need for the award.
