Following the conclusion of Kogi State governorship election and subsequent declaration of the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo for securing a resounding victory at the poll which held on Saturday, 11 November, 2023.

An APC chieftain and serving Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Hon (Engineer) Muhammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu has appreciated the good people of Kogi local government area for their support and having voted for the party’s candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo, now Kogi State governor elect.

Commissioner Gegu stated this when the people of Kogi LG comprising the Executive chairman Kogi local government, Hon. Dauda Aliyu, vice chairman Hon. Hassana Jezhi, Kogi local government party chairman, Hon Abubakar Onah , SSA on population and data collection, Hon Abdullahi Idowu Suleiman, SSA on local government Hon yakubu Badekwoshi, SSA on internally generated revenue Hon. Yusuf Ohimoko, SSA on youths mobilization Hon Saidu Ibrahim (Bobo Ohi), Kogi State APC deputy chairman, Hon Aliyu Gegu Egba, Hajia Maimunat Iyami, the Soroniya Dodo of koton karfe kingdom, both APC present and past Kogi local government women, youth leaders, 4GB network and other groups received the Commissioner on his arrival to the area.

The Commissioner first port of call was at the palace of Okoro of Girinya, HRH. Alhaji Muhammed Gomina Ganaguda.

The first ruler of Girnya urged the Commissioner to continued with his good work for the people of Kogi LG as well as entire Egbira race.

The royal father used the medium to shower blessing on his son and Commissioner representing Kogi LG at the State Executive Council, SEC, and prayer for the success of Governor Yahaya Bello led administration.

Mr. Bashir Gegu led the mammoth crowd of APC supporters to the palace of the Nyiwo of Gegu Beki Chiefdom, HRH. Alhaji Muhammed Abba Alhassan.

Commissioner Gegu equally appreciated the Nyiwo of Gegu for mobilizing the electorate across his chiefdom to vote for APC candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo, in the just concluded Saturday poll.

The Nyiwo of Gegu beki described Bashir Gegu as a rare philanthropist and promised to always stand by him.

In his remark, Commissioner Gegu said he is in his domain to thank him for the royal blessings and moral advises, before embarking on the political journey and vow to always work hard in bringing more dividends of democracy to Gegu Beki and it’s environs.

Global Times Nigeria reports that representatives from the 3 zones of Kogi LG being A, B and C were on ground in solidarity with their political leader.

The mini reception was organised by the APC supporters in Kogi LG to appreciate their sincere commitment and support leading to the resounding victory of the party at the poll.
