2027: Gov. Sule warns APC aspirants against violating electoral act

….Pledges to announce his chosen successor publicly at the right time, without bias

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has announced that he will reveal his preferred successor for the 2027 governorship election to the stakeholders and people of Nasarawa State at an appropriate time.

He emphasized that this decision will be made transparently, without fear or favour, ensuring fairness and openness in the succession process.

The Governor warned aspirants to conduct themselves within established guidelines and avoid exacerbating the political climate.

Sule stated this during stakeholders meeting of All Progressives Congress (APC) of Nasarawa West Senatorial Zone held in Keffi LGA today.

The Governor said that he would ensure justice and fairness during the party primary for the progress and development of the party in the State.

According to him, this power that you see only comes from Almighty Allah. He alone gives power.

” But A A Sule has the right to say I like so and so person and when the time comes for me to say I like so so person, I will mention it clear without fear or favour that I like this person to succeed me.

“And when the time comes, I will not be scared to say this is my candidate” the Governor said.

Gov. Sule appreciated the initiators of the meeting towards the unity and progress of the party in the zone while calling on other zones to do same for the progress of the party in the State

“I have the responsibilities to ensure that the primary election is transparent and fair” he said.

Sule called for unity among stakeholders of the party for the progress of the party beyond 2027 in the State, adding that power comes from God.

He called on stakeholders not to over heat the polity but to play the game by its rules.

The Governor used the medium to appreciate stakeholders and governorship aspirants and their supporters for their maturity during the visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the State.

Also speaking, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has called on the people of the zone to work in unity for the zone to produce the next Governor come 2027.

“I want to appreciate Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, my father for initiating this meeting.

“The essence of this meeting is to get right what belongs to us in 2027, that is the Governor.

“It is our turn to produce the Governor in 2027, we supported other zones and it is time for them to support us in 2027” he said.

Jatau urged the stakeholders to work in unity for the zone to produce the next Governor of the State come 2027.

“We will get it right in 2027, if we did not have betrayers” he said.

The Speaker also urged the aspirants from the zone to work in unity for the zone to produce APC Governorship candidate in 2027.

” Any one of our Governorship aspirants that win the primary, we will work for the person” he added.

Sen. Abdullahi Adamu in his opening remarks, said that it is the time of Western Zone to produce the next Governor of the State.

He said that the meeting was organized in order to unite stakeholders and other party faithfuls to ensure that the zone produce the next Governor come 2027.

“Keffi Zone ruled the State for 8 years, Lafia Zone has ruled for 12 years and Akwanga Zone is in their second tenure and will finish their 8 years in 2027″ he said.

Sen. Adamu who was the former APC National Chairman said he would not tolerate betrayers in the zone.

” I will not tolerate betrayers as it is the turn of Keffi Zone to produce the next Governor of the State” he said.

Adamu said that the zone would constitute committee that would work to ensure that the zone produced the ext Governor of the State.

Also speaking, Prof. Abdulkarim Kana, the APC Legal Adviser, Hon. Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim, Minister of Women Affairs, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi former Speaker of the State Assembly, Reps Abdulmumin Ari, Barr. Shuaibu Labaran Magaji, the SSG, Hon. Aliyu Ahmed Tijani, Federal Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) Hon. John Mamman, Commissioner for Education, Dr. Zainab Ahmed, former SSG, Hon. Abubakar Aliyu Madaki, Chairman of Karu LGA,all supported that the zone should produce the next Governor of the State in 2027.

They said that the zone has capable and qualified people to become the Governor of the State.

They also called for unity among stakeholders and party faithfuls of the zone to enable the zone produce the next Governor of the State.

The meeting also had in attendance Dr. Musa Ahmed Mohammed, the State Accountant General, Hon. Muhammed Garba Isimbabi (APC- Nasarawa/Toto) Hon. Ibrahim Aliyu Nana (APC Keffi West) and Hon. Daniel Ogah Ogazi (APC Kokona East) at the State Assembly, the State APC Secretary, Gubernatorial Aspirants, LG Chairmen, Commissioners among other stakeholders.
