FCTA disbursed N3.62 Billion to Area Councils, Stakeholders
The Federal Capital Territory Administration has distributed N3.62 billion in statutory allocations for May to the six Area Councils, teachers, and pension schemes.
Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory, FCT, chaired the 190th FCT Joint Account Allocation Committee meeting in Abuja where she announced that N1.14 billion was allocated to the area councils, and N2.49 billion was earmarked for teachers and pension schemes.
Specific allocations included N152.8 million for Bwari Area Council, N119.49 million for Abaji, and N167.52 million for Kwali.
Regarding the N2.49 billion earmarked for teachers and pensions, N2.12 billion was designated for primary school teachers, with an additional N36.25 million allocated to a one-percent Training Fund. Furthermore, N226.48 million was set aside for Pension Funds, constituting 15 percent, while N107.85 million was allocated as a 10 percent employer pension contribution.
