OPEN LETTER TO MALLAM NUHU RIBADU THE NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER TO THE PRESIDENT ON THE URGENT NEED TO INVESTIGATE THE RECENT ALLEGATION AGAINST A FORMER GOVERNOR OF KOGI STATE, HIS EXCELLENCY, ALHAJI YAHAYA ADOZA BELLO ON HIS SPONSORSHIP OF THE END BAD GOVERNANCE PROTEST
I am writing you this letter as a patriot who cares about the peace, security and stability of the nation in view of the recent happenings in the country and most importantly the #End bad governance protest which has indeed led to the loss of many lives and properties in the country.
I know as the national security adviser to the President that you are indeed also worried about the destabilising effects of this protest to the stability of this country when indeed all hands should be on desk to help our President achieve his renewed hope agenda that would lead to the growth, development, economic revival through reforms, peace and long term stability of the country. I also know as a lawyer that one of the duties of your office is to see to it that at all times the security of our country is not threatened by inflammatory statements, news surveying and unfounded allegations made out of bad taste that has the capacity of putting the country on fire.
The recent publication made by one Jackson Ude against the former governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, that he is one of the sponsors of the # End bad governance protest that have threatened the peace and stability of the country must be investigated thoroughly by your office. I am urging you to invite the said Jackson Ude who made this allegations and claimed he has the evidences at his disposal to come out and substantiate his claims against the former governor, His Excellency Yahaya Bello. The need for the investigations of this spurious and unfounded allegations against the former governor must never be lost on us because such allegations made in bad taste must never be swept under the carpet as the damage it can cause the nation and even against the person of the former governor can never be quantified.
The former governor of Kogi State, His Excellency,Yahaya Bello is one man who by his antecedents is known to be one of the nation’s greatest defender of our nascent democratic tenets who abhors military rule in its entirety and has shown severally through his actions that he is one young man who is a proponent of a new type of politics dispensation that recognises the will of the people to choose at every turn who governs them.
The present art in our country when people are allowed to make inflammatory statements in the country must not be allowed to fester because spurious statements, fake allegations that borders on the security of the country must not be allowed to be a substitute for logic and patriotism. I am therefore urging you to order an investigation into this allegations by Jackson Ude so that his intention, paymasters, and evil machinations would be unravelled and if found wanting be brought to book so that it would going forward serve as a deterrent to others.
It is indeed baffling to see that anyone can call the loyalty of the former governor of Kogi State into question at this time. His Excellency Yahaya Adoza Bello is known to see loyalty to the nation as a patriotic gesture because even with his closeness and loyalty to president Mohammad Buhari, he was one of the few governors in the country who went to the supreme court to challenge the naira redesign policy of that administration because it was ill-timed and causing a lot of sufferings to the common man and it is instructive to note that he did not hide under any guise but was always present personally in court to fight for what he believed in as a democrat. So, I find very baffling and preposterous for anyone to state that ex governor Yahaya Adoza Bello who got about 95 percent of the votes of Kogi State people for the President and used his personal money to achieve this feat for the President would turn around to instigate protest or even call for a coup against the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a administration which he helped to come to power. We must learn to respect people who stands by their words and Yahaya Adoza Bello is one of such politician in the country who seems to keep to his words. As the national youth coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential campaign organisation, he helped aggregate and galvanised the youth into standing on the side of the President.The question is what do such people like Jackson Ude and his sponsors and conspirators want from Yahaya Adoza Bello?.
It also pertinent to note that Kogi state did not join in the nationwide protest because the political leaders of the state are together in their resolve to assist the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to succeed in the implementations of his renewed hope mandate. I shall be very grateful if you can expeditiously order and investigation urgently and it’s outcome made public to go the nation in general.
